[Debian] sym53c8xx parity errors

Op mijn server waar op debian lenny/sid release draait, krijg ik bij het opstarten errors op mijn scsi drives. 1 drive (sda) pakt hij helemaal niet meer, en de andere sdb pakt hij nog wel, maar met veel parity fouten. Het gaat om twee harddisk, scsi ultra 3 hotswap. 1x maxtor en 1x seagate.

Wat ik al geprobeerd heb:
  • Booten met hwprobe=-pci
  • Booten met sym53c8xx=mpar:n
  • SCSI configuratie controleren
Maar dit alles helpt niet, en de fouten blijven gewoon. Mijn kernel regel in grub heb ik aangepast op deze manier voor de opties mee te geven, ik weet niet zeker of dit helemaal goed is :X

Zou gare hardware kunnen zijn, de kaart zelf of een van de schijven. Controleer de bekabeling eens, inclusief ook de terminator.
Je kunt anders eens proberen wat ie doet als je een van de schijven loshaalt. Ik zou die sda eens loshalen en kijken of ie dan sdb wel zonder fouten kan benaderen. (de root staat op sdb zo te zien? kun je dan booten zonder sda? anders eens van een cd booten en kijken of de aangesloten schijf dan te benaderen is)

Dat is inderdaad wel een idee om ze even appart te testen, als ik ze vanuit de scsi bios verify, geven ze geen problemen.

De schijven zijn SCA 80, en ik heb ze dmv een convertor die uit mijn oude compaq DL380 kwam aangesloten, dwz een print waar 4 x SCA80 aan 1 kan zit en aan de andere kant 1x scsi III 68pins, misschien dat dit ook de nodige problemen veroorzaakt, en kan ik beter losse convertors kopen ??? :?

Geen idee hoe oud precies eigelijk, maar het is een SYM53C1010R onboard bij die X4000 van HP dus denk ergens rond 2002 ofzo. Mijn kernel is 2.6.21.
