Ik heb het een keer werkend gekregen zonder initrd. enkel het nodige in de kernel.
Alleen wou ik nog een keer vanaf scratch op nieuw beginnen.

En nu lukt het niet meer.

Iemand misschien suggesties wat ik vergeten kan zijn.

Volgens mij ben je je initrd vergeten ;)

Ofwel geen drivers (static) voor je HD-controller in je kernel, dus heb je een initrd nodig.

Je hebt ook drivers voor andere controllers (op je moederbord neem ik aan) aanstaan, misschien hangt daar een drive aan die sda wordt, waardoor je boot-array een andere naam krijgt, sbd bijvoorbeeld? Als je host-kernel boot, ziet hij dan je 3ware controller wel?

Debian heeft overigens -xen kernels en andere Xen packages in de repository, dus misschien is zelf een kernel compilen helemaal niet nodig?

Laat eens een dmesg zien van de stock debian kernel zien. Dan kan je eens nagaan welke modules/drivers er geladen worden voor het aansturen van je hd

Ja wat er in Debian zit is te oud 3.0.2 dacht ik.
