Zojuist heeft EA een nieuwe gratis update voor Battlefield 2 uitgebracht. De map Highway Tampa, een maand lang in public beta, is met enkele aanpassingen uitgebracht als gratis update voor Battlefield 2. Tevens kan deze map op ranked servers worden gespeeld die voorzien zijn van deze update.
Er zijn verder geen wijzigingen in Battlefield 2 aangebracht, het is dus alleen een uitbreiding van de standard mapcycle.

Following a successful beta, the final version of Highway Tampa for Battlefield 2 is now ready to roll out. DICE, along with our update partner Intel, created this new map focused on tank battles that echo those of Battlefield 1942. Exploding shells ring out across the desert as tank columns meet in furious battle amidst the swirling sands.

Tweaks since the beta version include more infantry cover to help them hold onto flags, improved jeep spawning to better prevent stranded infantry and a number of glitch fixes. We wish to thank the Battlefield community for all the time they put in playing the map and posting feedback to the forums. We're sure you'll enjoy the epic vehicular warfare in this new map.

EA send out an official message on the BF2 stats outage:

We have identified the problem causing the recent stats issue that has affected a lot of Battlefield 2 players. Our planned fix will ensure that your current and ongoing stats are recorded. In the meantime, we are going to start seeing the stats being processed from the time of the outage. When this happens, over the course of a few days, you may see little to no relevant updates to you stats. This is not because any stats are lost or broken, and you should see normal processing continue once everyone's stats processing from that time that the stats are caught up.

Leuk dat ze dit doen, maar ze kunnen beter eerst het spel af maken en een goede patch uitbrengen

Dit komt behoorlijk spammerig over en gezien de sluiting van het BF2 topic lijkt mij het niet handig om dit topic wel toe te staan
