Windows minimizing without any reason

Since recently I've got an issue with my Microsoft Windows XP. When working on my PC suddenly all windows get minimized without hitting any button combination.

I've already searched the forums without any success.

I do have the impression that this has got to do with time. The minimizing appears after a minute or maximum 2 minutes of non-working.
But on the otherhand this isn't always the case...

Can you please help me on this irritating issue?

Do you also have this behaviour when working in safe mode? Have you scanned for virusses and spyware? And which version of XP are you using?
