Diagnostics:
1. Power On by Battery only? (Y = 2, N = 4)
2. Able to see BIOS (ASUS Logo)? (Y = 3, N = A)
3. Able to load the OS? (Y = B, N = A)
4. Adapter power LED on? (Y = 5, N = C)
5. Power On by Adapter only? (Y = 6, N = A)
6. Able to see BIOS (ASUS Logo)? (Y = 7, N = A)
7. Able to load O/S? (Y = D, N = A)
Symptom & Solutions:
A = Problem may be caused by defective MB/HDD/NB. Please visit local service centre for repair.
B = Problem may be caused by OS, please re-install the system again.
C = Adapter Problem. Please check the power cord connection. Otherwise, visit the local service centre for replacement.
D = Battery problem. Please check the connectivity of the battery. Otherwise, please visit local service centre for repair.

Power problems with AC adapter
Step1 :
Please remove the battery first to verify the AC adapter's problem
Step2 :
Please check the power outlet on the wall by plug another device to the outlet
Step3 :
Please plug the adapter directly to the power outlet on the wall
Step4 :
Please make sure both the wires between the adapter to the wall and to the notebook are well plugged and the LED on the adapter is alight
Step5 :
Please check the power status indicator to make sure whether the notebook is powered on
Step6 :
Please make sure whether the CPU fan perform the testing run when the power is switched on
Step7 :
Please stick into the hardware reset button at the bottom of the machine and reboot
Step8 :
Please remove all of the removable hardware (exp. mouse, PCMCIA card, power adapter, battery, external drives, memory and etc) and install only the necessary components.
Step9 :
Please remove the AC adapter and re-install the battery
Step10 :
Please make sure whether the CPU fan perform the testing run when the power is switched on
Step11 :
If possible, please change another battery to make sure whether it's the battery's problem
Step12 :
Please check the power status indicator to make sure whether the notebook is powered on
