hi to all,

sorry, but I dont speak dutch.

Anyone can help me to install @home internet with Vista? the Cd provided from @Home seems not working properly.

When I connect my modem (motorola) to the cable, after a while I see the Receive led blinking. sometimes, it stop to blink and keep on, then °Send led start to blink... forever...

From Vista side, I have no clue about what to do, as Iàm used to configure ADSL router/modems, but is the first time for me I have to set a cable connection.

Please, give me any tip.

Thanks

Shouldn't that be ccXXXXX-a?

Don't ever use the @home cd-rom.
The only thing you have to do is change the hostname of your pc into the number @home provided you. Normally a ccxxxx-a number, but cp cm ck are also possible.

If you installed the @home cd-rom, please uninstall it :).

Go to http://www.whatismyipaddr...x.php/what-is-my-hostname and look what it says.

At my home it says:

Your hostname is ccXXXXXX-x.assen1.dr.home.nl

The name "ccXXXXXX-x" is the name you have to use as Computername in Vista.

In XP you can find it here:

Thanks to all,

unfortunately, I was not able to solve my problem.

Well, I had already unsistalled @home shit, and set my computer name with the one they gave me, but my connection is still not working.

Cables, plugs and connectors are (or seems) properly connected.

The modem status is:
Power: On
Receive: On
Send: Blinking
Online: Off
PC Activity: Blinking

I guess then I have some other problems.

Honestly I was not sure to be able to get an internet connection by cable, as my flat provide a "shared" cable. That means I'm not the only user of this cable: the owner made some derivations to other flats.

Anyway, calling @home, they told me I should be able to have my internet connection, so they made me the contract and sent me the kit.

I've changed the current plug with the one proveded with the kit (Wandcontactdoos) and connected with the "Signaalverdeler". I'm quite good in these kind of stuffs and even if I dont understand dutch, looking to the pictures and using some of my skills, I guess I've made a right job anyway.

So, where could be my problem?

Thanks again.

Uhm, I guess that means that the modem is not getting a connection with the @home gateway. So the problem is not with Vista. Check the manual of the modem for this or call the @home customer support and ask them to explain the blinking pattern of the modem and help you out :)
I wouldn't be surprised if the special cable situation in your flat has got something to do with this.

Edit: It might indeed also be an adminstrative problem like the person below me mentions.

Ow, and this is a dutch forum, asking questions in English is not really allowed. And this kind of simple questions is not allowed at all anyway, even if they were in dutch. You should try to fix it yourself first. And checking the manual and contacting customer support about such problems are steps you should definitely take before asking any questions here.
