[UBUNTU] openGL/freeGLUT probleem

Hallo,

Op mijn ubuntu 6.06 (dapper) installatie ben ik bezig met een augmented reality onderzoek, gebruikmakende van ARToolKit. Deze toolkit maakt gebruik van freeglut (FREE openGL Utility Toolkit). Als ik echter een applicatie draai, gemaakt met de ARToolKit, krijg ik steevast deze error, wat erop duidt dat er iets niet gerenderd kan worden:

freeglut (./graphicsTest): Unable to create direct context rendering for window 'windowName'
This may hurt performance.

Ik heb een ATI Radeon 9800pro, en de nieuwste linux drivers. Tevens heb ik een hele zooi packages geinstalleerd. Door te zoeken op internet wijst het erop dat het programma niet gerenderd kan worden (en in veel gevallen gaat ie dan ook in softwaremodus renderen)

Heeft iemand een idee waaraan dit kan liggen? Mis ik een package? Is er een compatibiliteitsprobleem? Als ik de 3D screensavers van ubuntu draai haal ik namelijk ook erg weinig FPS, op dit 3ghz systeem. Zou ik andere videokaart drivers moeten proberen? (welke)

Hmmm.. die zegt inderdaad 'no'. Hoe fix je dat?

Post even je xorg.conf (meestal iets als /etc/X11/xorg.conf)

en de output van `lsmod` (kijken ofdat fglrx geladen is)

Okee dat lijkt allemaal goed op het eerste gezicht. Probeer eens hetvolgende toe te voegen:

en composite uitzetten (composite aan op mijn laptop verkloot ook me 3d accel)

Hm het werkt nog steeds niet, direct rendering; no...

(WW) fglrx(0): Kernel Module version does *not* match driver.
(EE) fglrx(0): incompatible kernel module detected - HW accelerated OpenGL will not work

Dat betekent, je kernel (module) updaten danwel zorgen dat beide drivers overeen komen qua versie.

(en vraag mij niet hoe dat moet in debian ubuntu)

restricted modules van dezelfde versie geinstalleerd.. maar als ik de kernel moet updaten naar dezelfde versie (being? welke versie moet ik hebben, gegeven mijn xorg.conf etc?)

Ik snap't niet...
