Probleem saphire x1950xt onder vista

Ik heb een erg irritant probleem met de saphire x1950xt onder vista.
De saphire wisseld bij het opstarten van een spel tussen 2d en 3d kloksnelheden.

Vista kan hier niet mee overweg (of de catalyst) drivers, het resultaat is in iedergeval dat of de game crashed of vista een bsod geeft.

Dit gebeurde bij de catalyst 7.1 en de 7.2 drivers. De enige manier om een game te kunnen spelen is door het uitzetten van de service "Ati external event utility". De kaart blijft dan alleen op de 2d snelheid draaien.

Symptoms:
When using a Radeon X1950XT 256MB (commonly, but not limited to graphics cards by Sapphire and Powercolor) graphics card in Windows Vista, the system will reboot when starting 3D applications.

Cause:
The cause of this issue is not yet known.

Solution:
Currently there is no solution, however, users have reported that disabling the "ATI Hotkey Poller" service or using the Microsoft provided drivers helps with this issue.

ATI Engineering has been advised of this issue and is investigating. Any updates will be published when they become available
