[Ubuntu]Stomme vraag over boot.img

Ik heb een oude compaq pentium 2 hier staan waar ik linux (ubuntu) op wil zetten. Nou kan ik niet in het bios instellen dat hij vanaf de cdrom moet starten. Dus nou heb ik rwwrtwin gedownload om boot.img op een floppy te zetten en zo de cd te starten. Maar waar kan ik boot.img nou vinden? Ik heb gezocht op internet en op de cd zelf maar ik kon niks vinden.

Staat er ergens Rawrite (of was et rawwrite) op de CD? In dezelfde map vind je meestal ook een set floppy images.
Met Rawrite kan je dan die images naar floppy extracten en dan van die floppy booten.

De boot.img zit afaik *in* die floppy images.

Q: My computer won't boot from CD. What should I do?

A: Look in your computer's BIOS (on many computers you need to push the "Delete" or F1 key during the POST) to see whether it is set to boot from CD. If this is already set, your computer may not be able to read the CD (some notebooks have problems with black-coated CD's, for example). Some computers will only use the new BIOS settings after a hard reset.

A: If your computer doesn't support booting from CD, you can create a boot floppy using the "rawrite" or better yet the mkfloppy.bat file program in the "KNOPPIX" directory on the CD.

A: Get the Smart Boot Manager, and install to floppy, this should let you boot from any bootable CD. http://btmgr.sourceforge.net/3.7/sbminst.exe. If you want to install from windows, download the sbminst.exe and run it from the Command Prompt like : sbminst.exe -d 0 to install to floppy drive.

Die had ik al geprobeerd, 2 uur geleden maar toen deed hij het niet. Nu deed hij het opeens wel, ik had eerder een typfout gemaakt. Bedankt :D:D, hier mag een slotje op.
