na wat hulp van de ST helpdesk hierbij de complete handleiding.
These are the steps in a nutshell:
1. Configure Access Point.
- Set Manual Wireless Channel.
- WEP only (WPA not supported in Repeater mode) 64 or 128-bit.
- Set ACL to 'New Stations Allowed Automatically'.
- Configure WDS.
2. Configure Repeater.
- Disable DHCP.
- Change IP to i.e. 192.168.1.253 (otherwise IP conflict).
- Set WEP (same WEPkey as Access Point).
- Set Manual Wireless Channel (same as Access Point).
- Configure WDS.
See below for a more indepth explanation.
Tip : if a customer wants to know which one he is connected to, give the Repeater a different SSID.
WDS is determined by MAC address and not SSID.
Before we start, we need to configure the Access Point modem.
So first, we enter the webinterface of the Access Point.
Repeater mode only works with WEP encryption and with a manual channel.
Also, the ACL must be set to 'New stations are allowed'
If not already, turn the Repeater on.
Please note that under 'Pick a task' is the option to configure WDS.
Click on 'Configure WDS'
Click on 'Scan for wireless Access Points'
The Access Point will start scanning for wireless networks.
It should come back with a list of all wireless networks in the area.
Place a tick in front of the one you want to use as Repeater.
(If not sure which one to use, check the Mac Address on the bottomlabel of the Repeater)
This completes the configuration of the Access Point.
Now, it's time to configure the Repeater.
Disconnect the PC from the Access Point (or use a different PC to configure the Repeater).
This is because both devices have 192.168.1.254 as LAN IP address and that will lead to an IP conflict.
Go to
http://192.168.1.254
Click on Home Network, Interfaces and LocalNetwork.
Disable the DHCP server in the Repeater.
Now, add a LAN IP address from the Repeater : 192.168.1.253.
Open
http://192.168.1.253
Go back to the LAN IP page (see above) and remove the 192.168.1.254 and the 10.0.0.138 IP address.
Go to the WLAN configuration page and use the same settings as the Access Point.
(same channel, same WEP type and WEPkey)
Configure WDS ,scan and choose the Access Point as WDS device.
The SSIDs don't have to be the same.
If you give the Repeater a different SSID, the customer can easily tell which one he is connected to.
Done !
