Post subject: Planned shutdown temporarily today

We may have to shut down some FAH elements (stats updates and/or web pages) due to a major power overhaul in our primary server room. The data servers will be up and FAH will work, but there may be some bumps along the way as we switch over the critical servers. This will last until the afternoon PST of 12/29/2006 when the new power setup to the room will be completed.

PS We've temporarily suspended stats update just to make sure the machine doesn't go down in the middle of a stats update. This may likely last for as much as 36 hours, but will hopefully be less. When we get a chance, we'll likely do a stats update here and there to try to keep up to date.

UPDATE:
We'll likely take several of the key machines (AS's, stats, web) down at 1pm PST for about an hour to switch over to the temporary circuits. We will have to do this again at about 3pm PST tomorrow to put it back to main circuits.

UPDATE (3pm PST):
We've switched over to the new power. We're only bringing up the critical machines, since we'll have to do this all over again tomorrow. We've decided to bring up the AS's and web server, but we'll keep the stats db and other stats machines down until tomorrow.

We're sorry to keep the stats down for this time, but please keep in mind that it's just the stats *update* that's down, the stats themselves are being kept on the work servers and when we start up the update again, all the WU's that came in will be credited.

Drie plekken geklommen in korte tijd. Nu wordt het weer een wat langere zit. Maar vanaf ~ februari verkassen we onze power van rosetta naar folding, dus dat moet het wel wat sneller gaan
