Ik probeer MythTV te installeren via deze guide, maar mijn pinnacle PCTV i40 lijkt niet te worden herkend door mijn Ubuntu Edgy systeem.

Ik gebruik de 2.6.17-10-generic kernel. Onder XP wordt de kaart trouwens wel herkend en volgens verschillende fora zou Linux hem ook moeten herkennen

Ik heb zelf ook een pinnacle kaart, en opgelost door met modprobe te kloten. Standaard worden er geen parameters aan de bttv module meegegeven, die heb ik zelf achteraf nog een keer uit moeten vinden. Zoek eens op documentatie over de bttv module :)

Zelf heb ik het zaakje iig aan het werk gekregen door eerst de module uit te laden met 'sudo modprobe -r bttv' en vervolgens 'sudo modprobe bttv tuner=39 pll=1' om de module met de juiste gegevens in te laden (maar dat verschilt per merk/type kaart wat voor tuner erop zit).

Ik zelf heb volgens lspci een Multimedia controller: Philips Semiconductors SAA7133/SAA7135 Video Broadcast Decoder (rev d1)
Op de doos staat E-Tech TVPI03 ik heb die nog steeds niet goed aan de praat gekregen (ook niet onder Dapper) het beste wat me gelukt is is de saa7134 module laden met card=78 helaas zonder geluid.

Het geluid is een kwestie van aanpielen met je ALSA mixer, waarschijnlijk staat de goeie input niet geselecteerd of staat de fader van dat kanaal gewoon dicht :)

(Als er iemand een goeie guide heeft over de ALSA mixer icm een terratec dmx 6fire geef een brul aub)

Volgens mij wordt de kaart wel herkend, en is deze benaderbaar via /dev/video1 . Dat staat in de uitvoer van je dmesg.
Het is trouwens geen bttv, dus alle replies daarover kun je negeren.

Hier kwam mijn tv kaart ook gewoon voorbij in de dmesg, maar zonder de goede tuner erbij, dus dat ging toch echt niet werken.

Het zal best geen bttv zijn, maar je moet wel met modprobe aan de gang om hem de juiste tuner mee te geven, anders doet ie het alsnog niet. Maargoed als de TS dat genegeerd had dan had ie nu nog geeneens beeld :z

Met de saa7134 module heeft ie blijkbaar wel de goede te pakken :) En nogmaals het geluid is afaik een kwestie van de ALSA mixer uitvissen, aangenomen dat wat betreft audio de tv kaart via een line-kabel naar de geluidskaart doorgelust is.
