[Debian/Nvidia-XGL] Xorg locked desktop, Xorg = 100% CPU - Linux en overige clients

Ik heb gisteren een nieuwe installatie van Debian Etch omdat mijn systeem was gecrashed na een mdadm-bug.

De installatie is verbeterd vind ik van Etch, alles installeert lekker en netzoals voorheen wilde ik de Nvidia Drivers installeren met de drivers uit Unstable en de Nvidia One-Liner die bekend is binnen de Debian Community om de driver goed te installeren.

Voorheen draaide dit altijd goed, ik heb wel lockups gehad dacht ik in het begin, maar verder heeft het 5 maanden achter elkaar zonder problemen gedraaid.

Op dit moment heb ik dus lockups van de desktop en schiet xorg (wat ik kan zien via een SSH-sessie vanaf een andere machine) naar een XPU van 100%. Ik kan dit killen, X sluit dan af en ik kan opnieuw inloggen.

Meestal gaat het fout na minuut of wat. Het uitschakelen van "xgl" in de module-section in de xorg.conf maakt in zoverre verschil dat de nvidia-settings manager niet meer crasht op het OpenGL-tabblad.

Ik heb al verschillende configs geprobeerd, ik zal de laatste xorg.conf even posten en ook wat xglinfo's.

Ik zag hier op het forum wat zelfde bugs langs komen, heeft iemand het op kunnen lossen ? Bij mijn borige installatie ging het weg na een aantal apt-get updates geloof ik.

Is dit weer een Nvidia-GLX probleem ? Ik denk eerder van niet want wanneer ik "xgl" niet laad hangt xorg nog steeds eens in de zoveel tijd.

Het zit toch in de 2.6.17 kernel zoals ik al eerder gelezen had. Ik draai nu op de 2.6.16-2 en dat gaat goed. Wat kleine instellingen in de xorg.conf aangepast en het lijkt nu goed te gaan

Ook met de 2.6.16 kernel ging het gisteren weer mis. Na een uur of 5 goed gedraaid te hebben liep de boel vast.

KDE, wat ik graag gebruik, hangt soms ook even voor de crash of schermen of ballonnen in KDE willen wel eens licht haperen.

Wanneer de boel lockt krijg ik in mu Xorg.log.0 een mooie WAIT MESSAGE van NVIDIA die blijkbaar ergens op wacht om iets met het geheugen te doen. Ik heb het idee dat ik dan ook net een scherm teveel open, dan gebeurd het heel vaak. Of wanneer ik te snel van start ga na het inloggen.

De oplossingen die ik tot nu toe uit google gevist heb leken te werken, maar het is maar tijdelijk.

Ik heb dit vandaag opgelost, het zat in SMP wat niet goed gaat met Nvidia. nvnews.net heeft er een sticky voor.
