Exchange account met andere mailbox naam op osx

Hallo,

Ik heb een mac g3 met daarop osx 10.3

Nu heb ik een 2003 server draaien met daarop exchange, ik wil graag connecten vanaf mijn apple naar mijn exchange mailbox

Nu is het probleem dat de mailbox naam anders is dan de username

Ik log namelijk in met "administrator" en als mailboxname heb ik "xenophobe"
Is dit te realiseren via het programma mail van osx zelf of heb ik andere tools nodig.

Ik heb al het een en ander op lopen zoeken en volgens een paar websites en vrienden
moest ik inloggen met als gebruikers naam Domeinnaam\gebruikersnaam\mailboxnaam, dit werkt echter niet,

The server addresses (POP, IMAP, SMTP) will need to be configured with the IP address of your Exchange server. You need to remember that POP is a protocol for receiving messages only, while SMTP is the protocol used for sending them. For some organizations the POP and SMTP servers are not the same machine, and this is why they are configured separately. In the case of MS Exchange they will usually be the same machine, which you specify in both fields. It is best to avoid putting a computer name here unless you are sure that the client will always be able to resolve it to an IP address, using an LMHOSTS file, for example.

When connecting a non-Outlook client to an Exchange mailbox the username has to be specified as DOMAIN\USERNAME\MAILBOX in the case of a POP3 configuration, or DOMAIN/USERNAME/MAILBOX in the case of IMAP. MS clients such as Outlook Express or Pocket Outlook will allow you to use just the mailbox name, but this is not generally the case with other clients. The password field may be configured with the users NT Domain Account password if you don't want to type it in each time you connect.

The email address that you supply will be the Internet email address associated with the mailbox.

Die had ik dus ook al gevonden, zijn er nog andere suggesties

En heb je het ook al geprobeerd met een forward slash ( / ) in plaats van de backslash ( \ )? Dat lijkt hier namelijk nogal wat verschil te maken . Een andere suggestie heb ik zo gauw even niet...
