Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Announces New
March 2007 date for European Launch of PLAYSTATION 3
No change in launch date for Japan and North America

London, Wednesday 6 September 2006 – Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) today announced that it would revise the launch date of its PLAYSTATION® 3 computer entertainment system in the PAL territories of Europe, Russia, Middle East, Africa and Australasia from 17th November 2006, as previously announced to March 2007.

Launch dates for Japan and North America will remain the same, which are November 11th and November 17th respectively.

The revision of the launch date in the SCEE territories is caused by the delay in the mass production schedule of the blue laser diode within the Sony Group, thus affecting the timely procurement of key components to be utilised in PLAYSTATION 3.

The previously announced PLAYSTATION 3 shipment forecast of 6 million units globally within the fiscal year ending 2007 is not changed.

domme zet van sony, ik denk dat nu nog meer mensen het vertrouwen in sony gaan opzeggen en overstappen op de 360.

In amerika is men over het algemeen al pro xbox360. Sony had een grote schare trouwe fans in Europa en een heel erg grote afzetmarkt. Ik denk dat dit ze een groot aandel van die afzetmarkt gaat kosten. En terecht overigens, ze zijn nu 1.5 jaar later dan de xbox360 terwijl de technologie min of meer gelijk is (als je het beschouwt als console, dus blu ray ff buiten beschouwing gelaten).

Ik denk dat de xbox360 deze ronde gaat winnen qua aandeel. (overigens is dit ook erg gunstig voor de WII als deze nog wel gelanceerd wordt dit jaar).

Ik zou niet weten waarom. Er is geen sprake van "overstappen". De PS3 is er immers nog niet.

Zag het net ook op Demensionplus waar ik voor de PS3 aan het kijken was..
Helaas... Beetje zoals bij de PSP dit, die daardoor ook erg veel geïmporteerd is.

Waarom zou iemand overstappen op een xbox als de ps3 uitgesteld word? De 360 heeft en blijft slechte spellen hebben. Dus om ineens een andere mening te krijge vind ik wel erg vreemd
