WSUS probleempjes

Onze nieuwe Dell werkstations worden niet herkent door de WSUS server.
Via de policies krijgen nieuwe werkstation automatisch de WSus server toebedeeld. Ook de nieuwe werkstations. E.e.a. staat goed in de desbetreffende registry. Toch vindt de Wsus server dat deze stations geen bestaande werkstations zijn. Ze verschijnen niet in een lijst van werkstations van de Wsusserver. We hebben Dell pc's van het type GX260 en GX280. De nieuwe types zijn van het type GX620.

We gebruiken wel dezelfde image (alle werkstations) voor het standaard inrichting van de werkstations. Dit werkt goed.

Ook heb ik al gebrobeert met de onderstaande batchfiles om op die werkstations de Wsusclient te resetten en/of te herinstalleren.

Weet iemand hiervoor een oplossing?

check welke SP je werkstations hebben. WSUS werkt alleen met SP2 voor XP and minimaal SP3 voor win2k.

Is het zo dat de machines niet verschijnen in Wsus en ze ontvangen geen updates ? of staan ze er niet bij maar krijgen ze wel updates ? dit laatste is bij ons namelijk het geval, en is ook niet hinderlijk omdat we geen clientsets gebruiken, als in alle machines krijgen dezelfde updates.

maar mocht je willen werken met clientsets dan heb je een probleem.

check eerste even of de clients geen updates ontvangen zou ik zeggen mochten ze deze wel krijgen gaat er iets fout met het tonen van de clients in WSUS.

Volgens mij hoeft XP helemaal niet per se een Service Pack hebben om met WSUS te werken, enkel 2000 moet SP3 hebben

Client Diagnostics Tool

Heb overigens hetzelfde probleem. Bij mij bood deze tool geen oplossing, maar voor u wellicht wel M'n ervaring tot nu toe is dat WSUS af en toe een compleet mysterie is..

Although most versions of Automatic Updates can be pointed to the WSUS server and they will automatically self-update to the WSUS-compatible version, the version of Automatic Updates included with Windows XP without any service packs cannot update itself automatically.
