[2003] Streaming media server + NTFS rechten

Ik heb een streaming media server opgezet, en wou die graag beveiligen door de NTFS rechten te laten uitlezen op het bestand dat gestreamt moet worden.

Ik heb eerst geprobeerd zonder beveiliging, en ik kan op een client dus perfect de stream openen en bekijken. Dan heb ik aangezet:

Dus ik ga naar die map en het media bestand, ik neem eigenschappen, beveiliging, en ik verwijder iedereen maar voeg Test1 toe en die heeft alle rechten. Nu is het probleem:

Als ik naar het gestreamde bestand ga, vraagt hij mij om username en paswoord te geven, als ik iets fout intyp, blijft hij dat kadertje geven, maar als ik het juiste intypt, dus die Test1 met zijn paswoord, dan verdwijnt het kadertje, en krijg ik "ready" in de embedded media player. Als ik dan op play duw krijg ik weer dat inlog venstertje, ik voer de gegevens in en er staat weer "ready" maar hij begint niet te spelen.

Als ik windows media player zo open ipv naar het bestand te surfen, moet ik me ook inloggen, als ik foute inlog gegevens intyp blijft het inlog kadertje komen, als ik Test1 invoer, krijg ik een ander kadertje:

Windows Media Player cannot access the file. The file might be in use, you may not have access to the computer where the file is stored, or your proxy settings might not be correct.

Ik heb dan maar verder nagedacht, en ik weet, dat als je met een gewone user op een FTP wilt van de server, je die user het recht moet geven "lokaal aanmelden". Dit heb ik dan ook gedaan maar het helpt niets, ook niet na vele reboots. Als ultieme test, heb ik dan een FTP server opgezet, zonder anonieme toegang, werkt dus ook op de NTFS rechten, basis map is die streaming map, en dat werkt perfect.

Ik kan dus perfect naar die FTP surfen, inloggen als Test1 en die stream bestanden downloaden. Maarja, dat wil ik dus niet, ik wil streamen. Is het soms een bug in de streaming server? Van dat als de user toegang heeft, ... er niets gebeurd?

als ik dit goed lees dan heeft "network service" ook rechten nodig op het bestand:

The process that Windows Media Services uses for authentication and authorization takes place in the following two steps, regardless of where the content is located:
The Windows Media server uses impersonation to log the user on to a folder or file with the WMS NTFS ACL Authorization plug-in.
If the user is authenticated, the Windows Media server logs on by using a local account (NETWORK SERVICE) to access the content.
This process works by default when the content is stored locally.

en met deze methode kun je de permissies toevoegen:

Set permissions on the remote share
If the server and remote device are in the same domain, the preferred method is to add the Windows Media server computer account (for example, WmServer01) to the remote share and give it read permission. With this method, any service or process running under the NETWORK SERVICE account on the server will have access to the remote share. However, users logged on to the server will not be able to access the share directly, unless they too are given permission.
