Linksys PSUS4 compitable met HP 1020??

Hallo luitjes,

Ik heb een vraag is de linksys PSUS4 compitable met de HP 1020?
Ik heb Linksys al gebeld en hebben geen slechte of goede reacties voor de printer. (oftewel ze hebben hem niet getest)

Ik vraag dit omdat ik nu een EDIMAX hier heb liggen welke dus niet werkt met de printer.
EDIMAX geeft dus wel een reden op en dat is de volgende "De HP-1020 is een GDI-printer. GDI-printers worden niet ondersteund door onze printservers.".

Ik weet niet wat dat GDi inhoud maar is wel lekker stom van HP

Nu heb ik dus een Printerserver liggen welke ik niet kan gebruiken op de 1020.

Dit wil ik graag voorkomen en ben benieuwd of er mensen zijn met ervaringen met deze printserver met een printer uit de 1000 serie.

Graphics Device Interface (GDI)

Ik heb de PSUS4, en die maakt gewoon een poort aan op je pc, waar je vervolgens je printer op 'aansluit'.
Je voegt dus een printer toe en geeft aan dat 'ie op die poort staat.
Ik zal wel eens kijken of er iets in mijn config screen staat over GDI

Ja dat doet de edimax ook.

Alleen zodra ik dus de printer aansluit op de usb poort kan ik de edimax printserver niet meer pingen.

Ik wil dit dus voorkomen dat ik dus geen 2de miskoop bega.

Helaas voor jou heeft Edimax wel gelijk. Een HP 1020 is niet te gebruiken icm een printserver. Je had beter een 1022N kunnen aanschaffen of de normale 1022 icm printserver.

Damn dan is dat mooi balen.
Op zulke dingen let je in eerste instantie niet en je gaat er ook gewoon vanuit dat het kan. Maar helaas.

Is er geen mogelijkheid om het werkend te krijgen dan behalve via een server en dan te delen in XP?

Ik wil hem dus aan het netwerk hebben zonder dat er een pc tussen komt.
