[FC1/MySQL 4] my.cnf newer than swap file*

Dames en heren,

Ik ben ten einde raad. Ik wou de my.conf aanpassen. Dus dingen veranderd en opgeslagen. Maar ik krijg MySQL niet meer aan de praat. Bij restart zegt het OK, maar de forum die ik host kan geen verbinding meer maken. Reboot helpt ook niet.

Tevens krijg ik deze melding altijd als ik in vi wil:

Nee helaas.
Ik probeer .my.cnf.swp te wissen, maar kan hem nergens vinden.

Gebruik je Linux? Windows? Welke versie/distro? Welke versie van MySQL?

Let er wel op dat alle bestanden die met . beginnen standaard niet zichtbaar zijn
Doe eens 'ls -a' in de directory
En daarna eens 'rm -f .my.cnf.swp'

Fedora Core 1 met Plesk 7.0.2.
Dus ik dacht MySQL 4.x.

Ik wil de root gegevens wel geven als iemand er zelf naar wil kijken.

Bedankt, ik heb het gewist. Maar het probleem blijft zich voordoen.

Plesk kan zelf ook niet bij MySQL:

Daar zou ik niet zo scheutig mee zijn.

Anyway, dit heeft niets met programmeren te maken, de mensen in Non-Windows Operating Systems kunnen je hier vast beter mee op weg helpen.

Maar de forum en Plesk kan dan nog steeds geen verbinding maken.

Staat MySQL wel in je process list (ps aux)? Bestaat /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock ? Post je config eens, heb je toevallig sockets uitgezet en alleen netwerkberbindingen aangezet oid?

In je process-list staat geen mysql! Bestaat /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.pid en zo ja, welk getal staat daar in?

Wat zegt /var/log/mysqld.log?

Hmm ik heb een aantal zinnen weggehaald in my.cnf en hij doet het weer.
Erg raar. Heb je mischien een idee wat de probleem veroorzaakte?

En wat zeggen de logfiles ? Leuk dat je zo ongeveer alles post wat je kan posten, maar ik kan je aanraden eens in de MySQL logfiles te kijken voordat je een topic opent.
