Probleempjes met Ultra66....

Ik zet hieronder ff het e-mailtje wat ik naar Promise heb gestuurd, dus in het engels:

Hi,

I'm kind of having trouble with your Ultra66 controller card. It won't work stable in my system. The first problem is: In MS-DOS I cannot access my HD that's connected to the Ultra66, and in Win98 (First Edition) the drive letter assigned to my HD is not D: (which should be normal for a second HD) but it is F:, after my 3 partitions on my first drive.


OK, some info on my system:
- Abit KA7 with Athlon650 (running at 100x6,5)
- 1x 17 Gb Maxtor on primary IDE port
- 1x CD-RW on secondary IDE port
- 128Mb PC100 SDRAM
- Asus V6600 DeLuxe
- SoundBlaster Live! Value
- 10/100Mbit network controller
- Promise Ultra66 controller
- 1x 20 Gb Quantum HD on primary IDE port
- 1x DVD-ROM and 1x ZIP-100 on secondary IDE port


I also had the problem that if I attached both HD's to the Promise and set the BIOS to boot from SCSI, the HD's were accessable from MS-DOS, but Win98 would not install and Norton Ghost wasn't able to place back the backup created just a day ago when the HD's weren't on the Promise, but the CD-ROM's were.


And then the final problem, which I'm not sure belongs here, but I might as well ask: I get a lot of registry errors with Windows since I'm using the Abit KA7, does this have anything to do with your card? Or is this Abit's problem?
