Q3 opstarten met andere config

Ik wil quake3 laten opstarten met een andere config dan de standaard 'q3config.cfg'.

Ik weet dat het kan met "quake3.exe +exec andereconfig.cfg"

Maar dan runt 'ie toch 'q3config.cfg' eerst.

Ik heb het in Doom ooit eens gedaan en ik weet dat het in quake1 en 2 ook kon, maar hoe?

In je autoexec.cfg zetten.
Als je nog geen autoexec.cfg hebt, eerst 1 aanmaken, en dan daar bij exec config2.cfg in zetten... Hij overwrite dan de normale q3config... Hij kijkt namelijk eerst of er een autoexec.cfg is, daarna naar de q3config.cfg...

Klopt, maar dan schrijft hij de veranderingen niet weg in 'andereconfig.cfg'.

Als je in doom met een andere config liet opstarten dan beschouwde die die config als zijnde "standaard". Zoiets moet ik hebben.

Mjah, moet je iets van een .bat'je maken ofzo...
Dat ie eerst de q3config.cfg renamed naar q3config.old
en dat ie config2.cfg renamed naar q3config.cfg

dan lukt het ook

Ok,
het werkt in principe prima maar ik moet die batch-file op pause laten staan terwijl Quake speelt.

Dit omdat hij dit doet:

quake3.exe

ren baseq3/q3config.cfg andereconfig.cfg

En dit zuigt volgens mij processortijd in quake3. (Muis beweegt kutter)

De reden van die andere configs is omdat ik met een soort profielen wil werken in quake.
De batch-file start dan ook op met een keuze menu zodat je je eigen profiel kan kiezen.

Weet er echt niemand wat die switch is om een andere standaard-config aan te geven i.p.v. q3config.cfg zodat 'ie ook de wijzigingen wegschrijft in andereconfig.cfg?

Since the release of Q3DemoTest, the loading and saving of personal config (.cfg) files through the game menus has been removed.

The ability to "exec" a config file is still available through the console (accessed by pressing the ~ key while in the game). A config file is saved when you change any of the game or system options. The name of this file is the same as the name you type in for your "in-game" character name. You can exec this file by accessing the console and typing:

\exec name.cfg

In the example above, substitute the name that you have given your character, for the word "name."

Conclusie: als je wil dat jouw persoonlijke instellingen worden gesaved buiten de standaard config.cfg dan moet je de alternatieve config vernoemen naar de character waarmee je speelt.
