[XP] MAXTOR 200GB MAAR 3.5 MB/SEC

De schijf ging eerst 27 MB/sec in mijn P3 700 met 320 MB RAM. Ik kon prima op 12x speed branden met mijn NEC 3540. Na het installeren van een oude 3GB hdd en het testen van een ander OS, nu opeens weer 3.5 MB/sec. Ook als ik mijn NEC 3540 eruit haal zeer tegenvallende resultaten. Hoe kan dit gebeuren? Alles staat op ATA-2 (hoogst haalbaar in mijn pc).

De chipsetdrivers geinstalleerd? Anders kan het zijn dat je op standaard drivers werkt en die kunnen best traag zijn.

Effe in je bios kijken wat de mode is van je hd, waarschijnlijk staat hij op een oude modus. namelijk umda 2 ipv 6.

Mij ga je niet wijsmaken dat je mobo van je p3 700 niet sneller dan ata2 aankan. Met een ata66 kabel moet jij zeker ata5 of theorethische doorvoersnelheid van 66mb/s halen.

Die tip van die chipsetdrivers zou ik zeker eens nakijken.

Als ik zelf probeer in te stellen dat ik een andere UDMA dan 2 wil dan werkt dit niet in de BIOS, helaas. Maar zou nu nog steeds makkelijk 27MB/sec moeten gaan. Het is een Dell Dimension XPS T700R. Ben de chipset aan het zoeken.

Je hebt waarschijnlijk die 3GB HD samen met je 200GB HD op een ide-kabel zitten. In dat geval draait alles op de snelheid van de traagste lees de 3GB schijf.

Haal die 3GB schijf eens eruit is toch minder dan 2% van je totale opslag dus wat heb je eraan.

De 3GB is er al lang uit. Na een herinstallatie van XP deed alles het perfect tot ik DVD's ging branden...

Maar na het verwijderen van die 3GB schijf, herinstallatie van pc, deed ie dit nogsteeds?

Dit lijkt me de meest zinnige opmerking, zeker gezien het feit dat je CPU-belasting op je laatste plaatje naar 94% gaat. Geen idee waarom en hoe, maar je CPU is bezig om de data van je harddisk te pompen. in DMA modus belast het lezen en schrijven van je HDD de processor niet.

Er staat inderdaad PIO mode, maar geselecteerd is: DMA, indien beschikbaar!

Ik heb de controllers nu gedelete, even rebooten dus en kijken wat er gebeurd. Kan dit alles veroorzaakt zijn doordat ik eerst de DVD writer op dezelfde IDE kabel als mijn HDD had staan?

Dit komt er vaak gewoon op neer dat de DVD defect is, dit hoeft niks met de brander zelf te maken te hebben
