Ik probeer RPC over http aan de praat te krijgen op mijn Exchange 2003 Server (met SP1). Het is de enige Exchange 2003 Server en de rpc proxy komt dus ook op deze server te staan.
De installatie handleiding die ik heb gebruikt komt van Microsoft: Exchange Server 2003
RPC over HTTP Deployment Scenarios. Daarbij ga ik uit van scenario 3. Na alle stappen te hebben gevolgd wil ik mijn eerste test doen. Daarbij stuit ik op het probleem dat ik een andere foutmelding krijg dan verwacht:

Geeft:
HTTP Error 401.3 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to an ACL set on the requested resource.
Internet Information Services (IIS)
Na mij verder verdiept te hebben kreeg ik het advies mee rpcping te draaien. Daarbij krijg ik de volgende fout:

Returned if connection to the server failed.
Verder heb ik deze patch toegepast om SSL te vermijden:
To allow non-SSL encrypted traffic with RPC over HTTP
1. On the RPC Proxy server, start Registry Editor (regedit).
2. In the console tree, navigate to the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Rpc\RpcProxy
3. In the details pane, right-click and add a new DWORD Value named AllowAnonymous, and then right-click it and choose Modify.
4. In Edit DWORD Value, in the Value data box, enter 1.
The RPC proxy server is now configured to allow requests to be forwarded without the requirement to first establish an SSL-encrypted session. The setting to enforce authenticated requests is still controlled in the Authentication and access control settings.

Alles lijkt goed te staan. Ook de aanpassingen in het register maar toch wil het niet lukken. Heeft er iemand nog een idee?
