mandrake 10.1 wlan pci siocsifflags error

Ik heb mandrake 10.1 en mijn wlan kaart krijg ik niet aan de praat. Mandrake installeert mijn smc2802W wlan pci kaart met een prism54 driver. Als ik dan ifconfig eth1 up intyp krijg ik de melding

SIOCSIFFLAGS unkown device

of iets wat daarop lijkt. Ik heb toen met ndiswrapper de winxp driver geinstalleerd en krijg dezelfde foutmelding. Via google wordt ik niet wijzer, ik weet alleen dat veel mensen dit probleem hebben met de prism54 driver, maar er wordt geen oplossing gegeven.
De ndiswrapper en de prism54 modules worden geladen bij het opstarten.

Heeft iemand enig idee wat die SIOCSIFFLAGS betekent? Ik heb ergens gelezen dat het een IRQ probleem is, maar daar werd verder geen oplossing voor gegeven.

Ja, die betekend dat je netwerkkaart niet herkend wordt Kan je de output van dmesg, /var/log/syslog (of /var/log/messages als je die niet hebt), de output van lspci en de output van lsmod hier eens neer zetten? Want op deze manier is het erg lastig om te achterhalen wat er aan de hand is.

Wat je nog even kan doen (mits je een dhcp server thuis hebt) is d.m.v. dhclient zonder opties (of een andere dhcp-client) eens bekijken welke interface's er allemaal van een ip voorzien worden.

Aan de output van dmesg / syslog heb je echter meer, daar staat als het goed is in welke interface de driver aangebonden is....

Ik heb nog een lan kaart, welke uit staat bij het opstarten, net zoals mijn wlan kaart trouwens. Ik wil elke keer handmatig mijn wlan kaart aanzetten en dus niet automatisch bij het opstarten.

Dat kan, maar ik zie hier zo snel even geen WLAN kaart tussen staan. Is dit de output van je dmesg commando of van het dmesg log.

Overigens hoop ik dat je wel ergens anders je logs opslaat (check dit even in je syslog.conf / sysklog.conf of hoe dat ding ook heet bij jou)?

Dit was het dmesg commando. Er staat inderdaad geen wlan of eth1 bij.
Bij mij modules staat wel prism54 en ndiswrapper erbij, dus de module is wel geladen van mijn wlan kaartje.

Als mijn netwerkkaart niet herkend wordt snap ik niet dat die wel bij de hardware staat in de gui van mandrake. Daarnaast vindt ndiswrapper wel de kaart als ik ndiswrapper -l intype. Hardware and driver pressent.
