[suse9.3] medion md9705, hoe krijg ik 'm aan het lopen? - Linux en overige clients

Heey,

ik heb hier een medion md9705 scanner aan een pc gehangen waar suse9.3 op staat. Dit omdat die ***** scanner niet meer onder windows wil werken, windows accepteert de driver niet meer. Ook de nieuwste driver niet.
Ok, terug naar linux. Hij vind wel een scanner, maar dan moet ik type nog selecteren. Zo gezegt zo gedaan, begint linux te zeuren over firmware voor de scanner! na jah, driver cd derbij gepakt. Maar hoe moet ik nu dan dat Artec48.usb (-->is dacht ik de firmware) bestandje laden dan??

En ja, ik heb al gegoogled maar ik snap der niets van, ben nog beetje nieuw met linux.

Dat firmware bestandje moet je ergens neerzetten in hotplug zijn directory... dacht ik. Althans zoiets herinner ik me nog van een héél poosje terug met Gentoo op een laptop waarbij zo'n pcmcia cisco aironet niet correct werkte. Hotplug vond de firmware zijn directory en toen werkte het wel.

Ik zal straks eens kijken welke dir dat precies is al je wil.

hotplug zijn directory??? pff, geen idee welke dat is. Maar als jij erachter kan komen... graag!!

zal morge wel ff proberen, slaap nu zowat. thanx alvast!

helpt niet, hij blijft nog steeds om firmware zeuren, ik snap der niks van!
en dat "artec_eplus48u wordt ingesteld..." blijft ook maar staan, gebeurt niks...............

EDIT: dat padnaam moest heel wat anders zijn: /etc/sane.d/ zoiets. scanner pakt ie nu dus WEL, klik ik op scannen begint lampje op scanner te knipperen. MAAR... dat scanding beweegt niet......
hmm, slotje zat half dicht. dan nog ff met instellingen zitten goochelen, maar nu doet ie!!!!

Nu erachter komen waarom ie onder windows niet meer doet.........
