Jawel, sinds 7 April 2005 zijn de officiële drivers voor ATi Radeon-kaarten voor de maand April gelanceerd door ATi ! Deze hebben het versienummer 5.4 opgeplakt gekregen.

3DMark2001: A black screen is no longer displayed when launching 3DMark2001 after launching Aquamark3 when the CATALYST™ CONTROL CENTER is installed
Pacific Fighters: Playing the game after playing any track for a short period of time and having the landscape detail set to perfect no longer results in the clouds becoming blocking when flying
Sail Simulator 4: Attempting to play the game under Windows XP with an ATI RADEON™ 9800 XT installed no longer results in the operating system failing to respond and rebooting
SolidWorks 2004: Display corruption is no longer noticed when setting the AA to 6X and AF to 16X
Splinter Cell: Depth buffer corruption noticed on the ATI RADEON™ X800 PRO is now resolved
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic: Loading the Dantooine level of the game under Windows XP no longer results in slow game performance

Attempting to apply a higher refresh rate to a non-DDC monitor no longer results in the refresh rate reverting to 60hz.
SXGA+ LCD panel flicker is no longer noticed when the frame buffer (UMA size) is set to 32MB or 64MB

Known Issues for CATALYST Software Suite 5.4
Act of War: Playing the game under Windows XP SP2 with Anti-Aliasing enabled results in display flashing being noticed. To workaround this issue, change the mouse cursor size in the game options to small. Topic number 737-18944
Call of Duty: Corruption is noticed when playing a saved game under Windows XP with an ATI RADEON 9100 PRO IGP series installed and having a variety of graphic options provided by the game set high. Topic number 737-674
Farcry: Playing the game under Windows XP SP2 with the display set to 1024x76832bpp along with AA disabled results in flashing textures being noticed when setting the game's video options to high detail. Topic number 737-10089

Voor zover bekend zijn er met deze driverrelease alleen maar bugs geplet, en zijn er in het algemeen weinig tot geen performance-improvements aangetoond, zoals hier en hier te zien is. Maar er zijn echter een paar gevallen die een performancestijging van een paar procent met zich meebrengen (vooral in DirectX9-spellen, ten opzichte van de drivers ouder dan versie 5.3), maar dit is niet vermeldt in de releasenotes...

Ik heb dit topic geopend op verzoek van CJ in het 'ATi Nieuws & Discussie-Topic deel 15' . Dit heb ik maar gedaan omdat er vele vragen en problemen gemeld werden in dit topic omtrent de ATi Catalyst 5.4-driver, maar aangezien dat topic daar niet voor bedoeld is (wat ook duidelijk vermeld staat in de Topicstart), kan je dat dus hier doen! Alvast veel succes met posten, en houdt het alsjeblieft netjes en ontopic!

word er nu pas een topic geopend? zat hiervoor al naar het catalyst 5.4 topic te zoeken, kon het al niet vinden.

Mijn ervaringen tot nu is dat ze best goed draaien, ben met ut2004, quake3, live for speed, gta fia race, call of duty,en moh pacific assault nog geen problemen mee tegen gekomen.
Heb een Radeon 9800n-p @ XT.

Ik liep al eerder met dit idee rond, maar ik had er nu pas tijd voor... Blijkbaar nam de rest van GoT niet de moeite om een speciaal topic te openen, dus daarom deed ik het maar Maar anyway, fijn dat het bij jou goed werkt!

Ik zie nu pas dat ik een van de weinige ben waar de Catalyst 5.4 drivers geen problemen bij opleveren.
Lijkt af en toe wel alsof mijn pc een beetje appart geval is, bij mij staat namelijk fast writes gewoon altijd aan, nooit problemen mee, terwijl ik hier op got wel anders lees.

heb ook nergens last van.
het enigste waar ik altijd last van heb sinds de 5.x serie is dat ik zwarte strepen krijg in sacred zodra ik beweeg.
als ik stil sta is er niets aan de hand.

maar verder heb ik nooit problemen in spellen met de cat drivers in tegenstelling tot de omega drivers

Ik vind de drivers qua prestatie tegenvallen in Half-Life 2, ik heb dit nu getest met een X800XL AGP (R430+Rialto) en een X850XT PE AGP (R481), beide kaarten scoorden beduidend lager dan de PCIe broetjes die ik een tijd geleden met de Cat 4.12 drivers heb getest.
Catalyst 5.3 en 5.2 hebben overigens dit zelfde probleem. in alle andere tests/benchmarks die ik heb gedaan met de cat 5.4 en deze twee grafische kaarten is de prestatie wel dik in orde.

Ik heb allang geen ATI catalyst meer gebruikt maar alleen de omega catalyst.
Is het weer moeite waard om terug te stappen? Of gewoon blijven bij de Omega?

Ik gebruik ook deze drivers, sinds ze uit zijn, en heb niet echt gemerkt dat iets slechter ging, alleen bij WoW heb ik soms last van artifacts, dan zijn bepaalde dingen vertekend, doe ik echter ctrl+esc en dan terug de game in, dan is het weer weg ik had het ook met oudere drivers, het gaat om PC1 en PC2 (uit mn sig) PC3 heeft er geen last van maar die heeft Radeon 9000Pro, PC1 en 2 een 9600XT...
iemand anders nog last van dit probleem?

Oke.. Ik heb sinds de prehistorie van mijn PC nog met de 3.9 drivers gedraaid.
Na een paar keer nieuwe drivers geprobeerd te hebben die niet werkten ben ik gewoon maar weer naar 3.9 overgegaan (staan op cd die erbij zat).

Nu wil ik toch echt 5.4 gaan draaien (is toch ff wat nieuwer dan 3.9)..
Maar ik heb nog steeds het probleem dat ik altijd had:
Vlak voor het inlogscherm van xp slaat mn scherm op zwart, daarna zie ik een vervormd loginscherm of een vervormd afsluitscherm. Mn computer freezed dan, na 20seconden ofzo reboot ie.
(in veiligemodus kom ik wel normaal gelukkig).

Wat heb ik gedaan:
-Mn bios van mobo geupdate (nieuwste staan erop)
-Chipset drivers geupdate
-Alle drivers ge uninstalled (ook alle registrykeys handmatig lopen deleten etc.)
-De Catalyst 5.4 geinstalleerd (werkt niet)
-De Omega's geprobeerd (werken ook niet)

Systemspecs:
ASUS P4P800
Intel Pentium 4, 3.0Ghz, 800mhz FSB
2x 512MB DDR400 geheugen (ik meen dat het corsair is)
Sapphire Radeon 9600 Atlantis 265MB

Ik heb ook Catalyst 5.4 geïnstalleerd en het enige probleem waar ik last van heb is dat de ingestelde kleurcorrectie niet automatisch goed wordt gezet. In controlcenter kan je voor desktop en dullscreen 3D de gamma, helderheid etc. instellen, maar wanneer ik een spel speel en weer afsluit worden de desktop instellingen niet terug toegepast.


Edit: De video overlay instellingen zijn hier ook niet te veranderen in het control center.

Beste mensen,

Ik krijg bij het openen/bewerken/sluiten van de Control Center (en een boel andere programma's) steeds de melding: " Er is een fout opgetreden in Command Line Interface..." waarna ik wel gewoon door kan gaan. Waar het me vooral om gaat is de theater mode voor op mijn tv, maar die instelling weigert ie door de foutmelding (denk ik) steeds op te slaan. Ik heb dus twee vragen:

1. Weet iemand waar die CLI-fout vandaan komt?
2. Kan ik die theater-mode misschien zonder Control Center activeren?

Ik heb een Sapphire X1950Pro, drivers (nieuwste) geinstalleerd op g: (systeemschijf, weet iemand of en hoe ik die nog kan hernoemen?), .Net 2.0 geinstalleerd.
