linux [ubuntu] geen beeld

eey,
ik heb net linux ubuntu geinstaleerd ging allemaal prima had ook allemaal beeld maar zodra hij alles gecheckt heeft en hij komt in linux slaat de monitor af.. ik snap er niks van waar kan dit aan liggen ??

wat kan ik er aan doen dan ?

Kan je wel inloggen in een console (crtl+alt+f1)
en dan inloggen.

Daarna typ je: sudo -s
ga dan naar /etc/X11/
en kijk ff je configuratie na daaro via nano -w
of anders draai je ff een wizzardje zoals xorgconfig

geeft hij nog een foutmelding ofzo, zie je nog enig beeld?

heb je btw hoary ? of de 4.10 van ubuntu

Ubuntu is standaard runlevel 4 dus dat weet ik ook niet... kun je aan grub init 3 als argument geven? Aan de andere kant kun je in Grub ook wel een safe mode oid kiezen om X niet te starten. Ik weet het alleen niet uit m'n hoofd allemaal

So, your old monitor has failed and you've either plugged in a new one or found a spare. You boot into Ubunutu to a blank screen. What should you do?

Thanks to orga for this:

1) Boot the PC
2) You should still get the startup text and the bootloader. Don't choose the usual option to boot, but the recovery mode option.
3) Let it run through...
4)...until you are given the choice of going to a normal boot or to a root command line. Enter the root password.
5) Enter

dpkg-reconfigure -plow xserver-xfree86

You will then go through a text program which will ask you many things about your mouse, keyboard and monitor. Assuming you are already happy with your setup, agree to all the default options EXCEPT those relating specifically to your monitor, especially screen size and resolution.

There are three choices of depth of detail required to set up your monitor. I chose "simple" and it worked for me...
