Ik heb hier een probleem met de microfoon-ingang van mijn laptop. Deze lijkt niet te willen functioneren. Gebruik van de microfoon in verschillende programma's lukt dus niet. Dit is de eerste keer dat ik een mic op deze pc wil gebruiken. Bij het testen van de hardware krijg ik de volgende foutmelding in twee verschillende pop-up vensters:
- fout bij installatie DirectPlay Voice; foutcode: 0x800004005
- kan Dpvsetup.exe niet uitvoeren. Gan naar het onderdeel Software in Configuratiescherm om het bestand te installeren.
Het gaat om een Compaq Evo N1020v laptop met on-board sound, Windows XP met service pack 2 staat geinstalleerd. De microfoon is een simpele no-name mic. Het probleem doet zich voor als de microfoon direct op de laptop is aangesloten en als de microfoon op de prot-replicator is aangesloten. Overigens werkt de line-out van de on-board sound wel normaal.
Microsoft zegt over dit probleem:
'This problem generally occurs only the first time that you run the test. If this problem continues to occur after the first attempt, follow these steps:
1. In Control Panel, double-click Sounds and Audio Devices.
2. On the Voice tab, under Voice Playback, click Advanced.
3. On the Performance tab, move the Hardware Acceleration slider at least one position to the right'
Via Google kwam ik het volgende tegen:
'Sound Hardware Test: An error occurred during direct play voice setup. The error code is 0x80004005.
Solution: Now it’s time to edit the Registry. Open the Start menu, select Run, type regedit in the Open field, and click OK. In the Registry Editor, locate and highlight HKEY_CURRENT_USERSOFTWAREMICROSOFTDIRECTPLAYVOICEAUDIOCONFIG. The AudioConfig key should include a pair of nested folders labeled with hexadecimal numbers. Open both of them to reveal several Registry values, including three labeled as FullDuplex, HalfDuplex, and MicDetected.
Right-click the FullDuplex value and select Modify from the pop-up menu. In the resulting Edit DWORD Value dialog box, type 3 in the Value Data field and click OK. Repeat the procedure for the HalfDuplex and MicDetected values, setting the Edit Value fields to 3 for HalfDuplex and 2 for MicDetected. Close the Registry Editor and reboot the computer. The microphone should now work correctly. If it doesn’t, you may have a malfunctioning microphone or Game Voice control pad on your hands.'
Beide oplossingen heb ik geprobeerd, helaas zonder resultaat. Wat heb ik verder nog geprobeerd:
- de mic op een andere pc getest (werkt, out-of-the-box)
- de nieuwste audio-drivers van Compaq geinstalleerd (ADI Soundmax Audio Driver for Windows 2000/XP » 5.12.01.3920)
- directx opnieuw geinstalleerd (DirectX 9.0c)
- in BIOS gekeken of de microfoon-ingang van de geluidskaart ergens uitgeschakeld kan zijn (nee)
Heeft iemand nog een andere tip voor mij, alvorens ik contact opneem met de leverancier van de laptop?
