MSDTC op een 2003 storage server cluster

Hello,

Ik heb twee windows 2003 storage servers (Dell NAS heads 775n) die als een cluster op een shared storage staan (SAN). Nu krijgen we veel DCOM, COM+ errors deze zijn denk ik gerelateerd aan de MSDTC errors. Ik heb op alle mogelijke manieren getracht MSDTC als resource in het cluster te installeren maar alles faalt. Ik krijg de resource met geen mogelijkheid aan de praat. Als reference heb ik MS KB:

gebruikt. Echter, geen van alle installatieprocedures werken.

Bijna alle artikelen die ik lees gaan over SQL server clusters. Ons cluster is echter een File sharing cluster. Iemand suggesties? Als er meer info nodig is hoor ik het graag. Alvast dank. Groeten, Saffi

Ik had deze al gezien. Echter slaat dit op com+ 1.0 en gebruiken we 1.5. verder is deze key wel aanwezig. ik zal eens kijken wat er gebeurt als ik de value op default zet = 0 (hij stond op 2)

Voor het archief, de "network service" account heeft toegang nodig tot bepaalde registry hives. Moet nog uitzoeken welke precies. Het is nu opgelost door deze account in de local admin groep te zetten. Nu maar weer verder kijken hoe we dat ongedaan kunnen maken door op de hives rechten te zetten.

Nog even een update voor het archief:

Omdat je de "network service" account natuurlijk nooit in de domain admin wilt hebben ben ik dieper gaan graven. Microsoft kwam met de oplossing (en die had ik echt nooit gevonden) Hieronder de procedure:

Hi Saffi,

We've seen this behavior in a few case, where the MSDTC failed with Access
Denied (80070005) when calling GetNodeClusterState API. This was due to
missing ACL's for the Network Service account to query the cluster service.

You can try using this tool from the Windows Resource Kit called SubInACL
that can be used to verify this information.

The tool can be download from the following URL:

This tools is a command line tool and the following command will display the
acl's for the Cluster Service.

subinacl /service clussvc

The following is output you should see from this tool at the command prompt.
If Authenticated User 'pace' is missing, MSDTC will NOT start on the
machine.

The following is sample of how on set pace looks like.

So if you are missing the pace for Authenticated Users for the Cluster
Service, remove Network Services from the Local Administrator group and see
if you can add the information using the following command.

subinacl /service clussvc /grant="authenticated users"=LQSEIU

After these rights are assigned to the MSDTC, so should be able to start on
the node without any problems.
