Er circuleert op internet heel wat informatie en plaatjes over de opvolger van Z1010, het eerste Europese UMTS toestel van Sony Ericsson. De opvolger zal zeer waarschijnlijk Z1020 als naam meekrijgen, daar men had verwacht dat het als Z1030 zou worden gedoopt.
Mobile phone manufacturer SE hasn't even released their first UMTS phone and there are allready rumours for a successor, one of these is the Z1020.
The pictures show us a 3G phone with a 1.3 megapixel camera, also videorecording would be possible. The possible Z1020 supports the Mpeg 4 format and also MP3. Our source also tells us that Z1020 could be the first mobile which supports the compression standard Atrac3 for ringtones, also a build-in radio could bring us nice sounds. For connectivity there's is no problem like there never was for the Swedish-Japanese producer. GPRS, Wap 2.0, EMS, MMS and also WLan ( IEEE 802.11 ) will be integrated. There would also be a Memory Stick Duo Pro gate on the phone which will support sticks up to 1 GB.
For the 3G phones we know at the moment is the stand-by time a bit low. The Z1020 will bring new things to the market. Our sources tell us it could have 5-7 hours talk-time and 300 hours stand-by. There will also be a high-end screen on board of this phone: a TFT-display with a diagonal of 2.25 and the size of 240x320 Pixels. The screen shows us 262.144 colours.
With the size of 85x55x20 mm and weight of 101g, is the in black or chrome phone a real design and a technical masterpiece.
