[XP, Webcam] Philips Toucam XS drivers gezocht *

ik heb vandaag mijn pc geformatteerd, en Windows XP Professional UK weer geinstalleerd maar nu krijg ik mijn Webcam niet meer geinstalleerd. het is een Philips ToUcam XS modelnummer PCVC720K ik heb het al geprobeerd met de CD en via Windows Update maar het wil maar niet lukken. wie weet een oplossing?

Welke foutmelding krijg je?

Hoe weet je dat?/Waarom denk je dat?

XP wil inderdaad wel eens met zo'n melding komen over niet compatible zijn.... dan heb je ondermeer de keus 'toch doorgaan' of in het engels zal dat denk ik 'continue anyway' zijn ofzo. Heb je dat al geprobeerd?

Heb je de CD echt even goed doorgespit op zoek naar drivers? (met de hand, dus niet automatisch laten zoeken door de installatiewizard van XP)

Heb je ook de W2K-drivers geprobeerd (indien die op de CD staan)? Die willen ook wel eens werken

ik kan ook geen nieuwe drivers vinden. terwijl ik gisteren nog wel kon webcammen ook op Windows XP Professional UK

Als je hem eerder aan de praat hebt gehad onder XP, moet dat nu toch weer lukken? Ik denk toch dat je OF iets anders doet OF je niet goed genoeg gezocht hebt tussen je spullen naar drivers oid.

die kun je wel downloaden maar dat is een web installer
maar zodra je die laucht krijg ik de melding deze web-installer werkt niet in deze versie van windows windows 2000 drivers werken dus ook niet

Nu toch even voor de aardigheid.....

1) Heb je gezocht met google?

Zo ja, dan kom je vrij vlot uit op de website van Philips (de fabrikant van je webcam zoals je weet)

2) Heb je eventueel zelf nagedacht om te kijken op de website van Philips?

Daar kan je namelijk gewoon de drivers downloaden...... voor XP.....

Ik vond het volgende stukje op een website:

Windows XP heeft zgn. native support voor deze webcam. Je hoeft geen drivers te installeren. Hij herkent de camera zelf of je kan hem toevoegen via het control panel, add hardware of via scanners & camera's.
Je hebt wel extra sofware nodig om de camera te gebruiken en daarvoor is een speciale update nodig die je kan dowloaden bij Philips:

Dus je schijnt geen drivers te hoeven installeren en dat het via het configuratiescherm van Windows XP handmatig toe te voegen is.

heb je het over incompatibiliteit of zegt de installer iets over WHQL en niet ondertekend door MS enzo?

NOT supported by ToUcamWebUpdate 1.3 for Windows XP! This means that if you
intend to use PCVC720K/00, -/17, -/20 or -/90 with Windows XP you just
have to plug in the camera without using your installation CDROM. Windows XP
will install the drivers to support the camera.


Installing your camera using ToUcamWebUpdate 1.3

To install the Philips PC Camera with the ToUcamWebUpdate 1.3 tool, please
act as following:
1. Click on ToUcamWebUpdate13.exe to start downloading.
2. Select "Save this program to disk".
3. Select "Desktop" for save location.
4. Install the camera using the installation disk supplied with the camera.
(not for Windows XP)
5. Run ToUcamWebUpdate13.exe by double clicking the file located on the
Desktop of your PC.
6. Press "Yes" to start the install program.
7. Select the camera type you are using and press "Next".

8. Vdownload will be started. Press "Next".

tab you want to update and press "Download".
11. Press "Yes" to accept the license agreement.
Now the selected software will be downloaded. This can last several minutes
depending on the speed of your internet connection.
12. Press "OK"
13. Vcheck will be started. Press "Start".
14. Plug in your camera when you are asked to do so.
Vcheck will install the camera and will do several checks. Press the
'Ready' button when Vcheck is finished.
15. Finally you are asked to reboot your PC. Press 'Reboot'.


FAQ1: V-check is identifying my WIN XP system as Win 2000

Problem description:
When I install my camera (PCVC720K, PCVC730K, PCVC740K or PCVC750K) on a
Windows XP computer, V-check is identifying the system as Win 2000 and stops
the installation.

Cause:
The problem is caused when a 1.0x CDROM (which is not Windows XP compatible) is
installed on a Windows XP machine (after the incompatibility message of the
system, which appears with PCVC720K, PCVC730K and PCVC740K, has been overruled).

Solution:
In case of PCVC750K:
- Just run toucamwebupdate13.exe and follow the instructions

FAQ2:
Is my ToUcam Plug and Play compatible in Windows XP?

Answer:
The ToUcam PC Cameras The PCVC720K/00, -/17, -/20, -/90, PCVC730K, PCVC740K
and PCVC750K are Windows XP Plug and Play compatible. This means that
Windows XP will recognise the camera when it is plugged in and will install
the drivers automatically without the need of a separate installation CDROM.
The PCVC720K/40 can only be installed on Windows XP using the ToUcam XS 1.1x
installation CDROM or using the ToUcamWebUpdate 1.3.
The ToUcam XS 1.1x installation CDROM can not be used for installation of
PCVC720K/00, -/17, -/20 and -/90!!!!!!!!


In case of PCVC720K, PCVC730K or PCVC740K:
1. Execute a Windows System Restore
(Start/All programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore)
2. Choose a restore point before the date of the 1st camera installation
attempt and restore the system. (If no restore point is available then
Windows XP has to be reinstalled)
3. Run toucamwebupdate13.exe and follow the instructions.

Known issues
============
The application installer sometimes makes a long time-out (up to 10 minutes)
between the installation of the applications. Just be patient and wait until
the application installer proceeds (appears in Windows XP only).

Zonde om na al die moeite te sluiten dus dat doe ik niet maar 5U8-Z3R0, ga de volgende keer ajb eerst langs Google en de website van de makers voor je een vraag stelt

Aan de ToUcamWebUpdate 1.3 heb je dus geen moer helaas, aangezien de 'Philips website al enkele dagen wordt bijgewerkt'. Fijn Philips, erg fijn. Je kan wel van je orginele cdrom de drivers installeren mits je die nog hebt. (Dat gaat voor mij helaas niet op )

De cam wordt onder XP idd vanzelf herkent, maar de software om de licht- en kleurinstellingen ed te regelen zit bij de drivers die dus niet willen installeren. Leuk bedacht, zo'n web update functie, maar zonder basis-drivers heb je daar dus echt niks aan.

Als goed is hoort XP de XS automatisch te installeren, en heb je geen software nodig.
Maar goed, ik heb van de cd ff wat bestanden bij elkaar geplukt, waarvan ik DENK dat ze nodig zijn, het kan zijn dat het er teveel zijn, of te weinig.
Laat me weten als het er te weinig zijn, dan kan ik bijvoegen. Zeg dan wel even welk bestand, als dat gezegd wordt tenminste.
Hier te halen, geen idee hoe lang die daar blijft staan, misschien lang, misschien niet

@ WFvN, dat is de nieuwe ToUcam serie, dit gaat over de oude.

Wat heb je allemaal al geprobeerd? Al eens met een programmatje als filemon en regmon gekeken wat die webupdate doet? En of deze wellicht de driver verschaft die je nodig hebt ?

Op www.philips.com is de driver overigens ook hier te vinden.
