inleiding

Jouw zelf gemaakte skin distribueren

En last but not least is deze ook heel instructief: One Second at a Time

tips

  9. Druk op de 'Save car'
  10. En geef de camerafile een naam. Deze zal voortaan standaard geladen worden.

Field of View (FoV)

Android iRacing Forum App (Nick Thissen)
The iRacing Forum App is an easy to use App for your smartphone or tablet, which allows you to use the iRacing forums in a much more convenient way than your browser. No more zooming in and out to click a link, no more scrolling left to right to read the whole text, everything is neatly in view at a comfortable zoom level so all you need to do is click and read!
Webpagina: http://iracingforum.nickthissen.nl
iRacing Setup Sync (Nick Thissen)
iRacing Setup Sync (or iRSS for short) is a Windows application that attempts to automate most of the tedious work around storing and managing your setups. It operates on a large database of setups, which is synced to most of the popular Setup Shops on the forum and therefore always contains the latest setups, even those shared on the forums. It allows you to browse setups by car, track or team and automates downloading the setups into the correct folder, and it can even automatically download setups for the car / track you are driving right now!

iRacing Private Message Tool (Nick Thissen)
The idea is very simple: build a list of recipients, type a subject and message, and hit Send!

iRacing Friendslist (Nick Thissen)
It is a Friend List application that simply shows you your list of friends, but in a separate application.

Webpagina: http://www.xpadder.com
Fanaleds (Dirk Teurling / Gerben Bol)
Fast Dash for iRacing: http://www.swatterco.com/Fast_Dash_for_iRacing.php
Dedicated dashboard
Telemetry -> 2de geluidskaart tbv bass shakers
Telemetry -> tweede PC
Joel Real Timing software

Voice Attack & the Digital Race Engineer

The Crewchief
Een gratis alternatief voor VA & DRE is The Crewchief.

communityfaciliteiten

Eigen GoT iRacing Portal

https://www.got-racing.eu/topicstart_got_2016/dosanddonts.png
Algemeen

  • -PassY- (Algemeen)
  • derx666 (Algemeen)
  • DirkT (Technisch beheer en 'sponsor' hosting TeamSpeak)
  • DutchDevil79 (Algemeen)
  • gtrNL (Grafisch ontwerp, car liveries, Social Media)
  • nickkoole (Algemeen)
  • PatrickPost1972 (Algemeen)
Communicatie via iRacing (voice) Chat
Communicatie via Teamspeak (voice) Chat

- Fixed an issue where the user was not returned to the last page they were on after exiting a Session.

- Fixed an issue where switching to/from table view and grid view, the Interface was not remembering which view a user was using the next time they returned to that page.

- Fixed an issue where the Interface was not remembering whenever the user chose to order content a certain way after navigating away and returning.

- Numerous other stability fixes; the iRacing BETA Interface should run smoother than ever!

iRacing Membersite

- The iRacing Membersite has been updated to allow for editing Sessions created via the iRacing BETA Interface. However, the user will be unable to edit settings that are only available when creating a Session through the iRacing BETA Interface.

- Various Day/Night & Time of Day information has been added to the Membersite:

- - Simulated start time will be displayed in the Session Info for Official and Hosted Sessions, and in the Race Results.

- A new and improved banner has been added to the top of the Membersite to launch the iRacing BETA Interface!

- Fixed an issue in the shopping cart where the hyperlink of a track added to your shopping cart from the iRacing BETA Interface was not linking to the proper track.

Series Special Event Races

- We have added a new feature which allows us to schedule Special Event Races for a Series within the normal season schedule. Each special event is a stand-alone racing event, and entry is based on championship points within the series. Championship Points awarded from such an event are not integrated back into the Series.
- - We could, for example, schedule a single split race, that would be populated by drivers with the top N in Championship Points, either for a given race week, or the overall season. Or, we could have a “Week 12 Pro Race" automatically built into any given Series for the top 40 drivers, based on Championship Points in that Series during the Season, who show up for the given race time slot. The top 40 who show up based on season points would race.
- - Championship Points earned from Special Event Races are stand-alone, and are not part of the regular Series standings.
- - We will likely be demonstrating this feature during Week 13, and it may even include some prizes, so, stay tuned!

Dynamic Track

- Initialization of a track on the client is now influenced by how many laps have been driven (including carry-over between sessions). This will enable clients to enter a session without causing a dramatic change in the track appearance as the server updates come in.

- The maintenance of track temperatures between sessions, such as the heat added from cars during a Qualify session, will now carry-over and dissipate through the passage of simulated time between the end of one session and the start of the next.
- - Previously it was assumed that enough time existed between sessions for the track to return to its equilibrium state at the start of each session.
- - You may directly influence this through the new Day/Night & Time of Day settings. For example, setting your events to run consecutively will create more vehicle-generated heat buildup throughout your event than having each session start four hours after each other.

Day/Night & Time of Day

- The Simulator now generates dynamic skies that change as time passes. The sun’s motion in the sky is accurate for the selected event location, date, and time. As the sun and cloud cover move, the lighting in the simulated environment changes to match the sky.
- - The generated sky will change as time elapses for all Sessions of all types, except for old Replays, Time Trials, and Time Attack Sessions, where conditions are frozen by design.

- The shadows cast by static objects, such as buildings, trees, and grandstands, now move over time to match the sun's angle.
- - These shadows also influence the dynamic track's temperature where they are cast over time.

- Regular Season and Hosted events now specify a specific starting date and time for the event.
- - A user may only select a day of the year for the start of an event that is within the normal range of dates during which the real-world track would be open for on-track activities.
- - - The default starting date for a Hosted session is a reasonable date in late Spring.
- - Each Session within a Regular Season or Hosted event (Practice, Qualify, Race, Heat, etc.) also has a specific start time within a 36 hour window relative to the starting date and time of the event. For example, you may create a Hosted Session that features an early morning Practice, followed by a twilight Qualify, followed by a sunrise Race. The default option is to run each session consecutively, so that as soon as one finishes, the next one will begin in real-time.
- - For Heat Racing Sessions, a user may only specify the specific start times for the first Session within each block of sessions. For example, you can specify the start time for the first Heat race, but not for each subsequent Heat race. A user may also specify the start time for the first Consolation race, but not for each subsequent Consolation race.

- When selecting the date and time for an event, the local time zone for the selected track is used.
- - Daylight Saving Time adjustments are taken into account when specifying the event start date and time. However, if a session runs through a time change point, the in-session date and time clock will not adjust for this.

- Event starting times may still be specified using generic presets: Sunrise, Morning, Afternoon, Late Afternoon, Sunset, and Night; or a user may specify a precise time at the track, such as 3:30pm.
- - When using the generic presets, the event start time positions the sun at a specific altitude above the horizon to match the generic term.
- - - Sunrise sets the start time such that the sun begins about 0 degrees above the eastern horizon.
- - - Morning sets the start time such that the sun begins about 20 degrees above the eastern horizon.
- - - Afternoon sets the start time such that the sun begins about 58 degrees above the western horizon.
- - - Late Afternoon sets the start time such that the sun begins about 15 degrees above the western horizon.
- - - Sunset sets the start time such that the sun begins about 0 degrees below the western horizon.
- - - Night sets the start time such that the sun begins about 20 degrees below the western horizon.

- Tracks that have night lighting (ie: any of the iRacing tracks for which a user has been able to select a "Night" event at before) will switch to “Night Mode” during the sunset/twilight phase, and the stadium lights will switch on. These lights will turn off during sunrise.
- - Tracks without night lighting will still function using the Day/Night & Time of Day system, however they will get darker and darker until they are nearly pitch black. We do not recommend driving cars without headlights at these tracks past sunset.
- - - As a special bonus, with this 2019 Season 1 Release, Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans has been updated to feature Night Mode!

- The speed at which the sun moves across the sky may be altered.
- - For example, an entire simulated day can occur within a 3 hour session. This “accelerated time” only affects the sun itself and how it changes the temperature of the day or night. Weather, cloud cover, etc. are not effected by the accelerated time.
- - When creating a Session, you may specify 1x, 2x, 4x, or 8x speed for the sun. Please note, the track surface temperatures may not keep up as accurately with a highly accelerated sun as they would at normal speed.

- The Simulation will display the simulated day of the week and wall-clock time in the F1 Black Box, and it will display the simulated date and time on the Replay screen.
- - While in a session where the sun’s motion is sped up, the wall-clock date/time values will advance at the appropriate rate, and will include the appropriate “2x”, “4x”, or “8x” sun-motion-factor indicator.
- - In Time Trial and Time Attack Sessions, since the sun position is fixed, these simulation-world date/time values are also fixed, and will include a “0x” sun-motion-factor indicator.

- Clouds now cast shadows, and these shadows update dynamically as the clouds and the sun move as time passes. Each cloud shadow effects the dynamic track surface temperatures.
- - When using Specified Weather for an event, the event will start at the specified temperature, but may drift up or down a few degrees depending on the time of day and the duration of the session.
- - Please note, when building fixed racing setups, expect at least some track and air temperature variance during sessions.

- Temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, and other weather values will change as time elapses during a session.
- - Currently, these changes are very minimal, and using Generated Weather will allow for slightly more variation during a Session than using Specified Weather. A new weather system is currently in development which will allow the sky conditions to change during the session (ie: clear to overcast, etc,) and will result in far more dynamic weather throughout an event.

- New “Sky Detail” Graphics Options have been added!
- - These settings control how many frames are used to update the sky. Low Detail spreads the work out over more frames, so the sky updates may appear jumpy, but the frame rate will be higher. High Detail does more work per frame so the updates are more frequent, but this can adversely affect frame rate. Medium Detail is an average compromise.

- You must use the iRacing BETA Interface in order to access all of the Day/Night & Time of Day settings that are now available. However, the system will still operate correctly in Sessions created and joined via the classic Membersite.

- Old saved Replays will now load up with a generated sky instead of the static skyboxes of the past. The sun position and sky conditions will attempt to match the conditions of the original replay to the best of their ability, within reason. The sky will then remain fixed while the Replay runs.

Driving Aids

- The Auto-Start Aid is now optional, you can turn it off if you want to manually start your engine when you get into the car. This will be forced to OFF if you map your ignition to an ON/OFF toggle switch.

- The Auto-Start Aid and Auto-Clean Visor Aid are now allowed when using Touch/Tilt Driving.

Rallycross

- Track-config specific setups have been added to a variety of the Rallycross vehicles.

Hybrid Power Units

- The PID auto-deployment system now re-calculates the control variable (EOS % offset) multiple times per lap.

- Adjusted the hybrid system to include the manual deployment offset that compensates for the requirement of a non-zero base value from the refline calculations.

- Updated the refline calculations for hybrids that reduces placement of end-of-straight markers due to cornering drag. The system needs to see 6 consecutive segments with a drop in speed before it will place an EOS marker.

- Additional updates to the auto-tuner. The aim with these changes is to achieve greater stability - slower to converge, but less variation once it gets there.

- PID parameters changed for faster but more stable convergence to target battery charge %. Also, % end-of-straight speed multiplier capped at a maximum value of 1.1.

- Updated the engine system to account for the Porsche 919 harvesting more energy than it may legally deploy at Le Mans.

- Fixed a bug where the battery state of charge was not correctly being carried over between driver changes.

Crowds

- The crowd system has been rebuilt from the ground up to significantly improve both appearance and performance. In the previous system, crowd members would only be seen facing the camera directly from the front or directly from the rear. With this new system, crowd members now render from 360 degrees and face towards the racing action, rather than towards the viewer's camera.

- Each crowd member is rendered from a high fidelity 3D model to a texture with four times the amount of pixels than previously. This results in a crisp, high resolution appearance with accurate normal maps and lighting in the Simulator. The variety of crowd appearance has also increased, with over 33% more unique people than before.

- Each crowd member is also now an instanced object, and each race fan takes advantage of this technology to reduce their memory usage and rendering time.

Paint Kit

- The texture size for all helmet patterns has been increased from 512x512 to 1024x1024.

- Radical and SimSpeed sponsors have been updated.

Options

- All in-car controls not currently in use will no longer be displayed in the Options screen.

- Some Options and Replay Options screen items have been rearranged and adjusted:
- - A Sky/Cloud Detail setting has been added to the Options screen.
- - The Virtual Mirror setting has been removed from the Replay Options screen.
- - The Far Terrain and Tri-linear Filtering options have been removed from the Options and Replay Options screens; these options are still available for adjustment in the ".ini" file.

Controls

- Support has been added for mapping an ON/OFF switch to some toggle controls, that is a switch that remains ON or OFF rather than just a momentary toggle.

- A checkbox has been added to the Option Screen to disable the Auto-Starter Aid that starts your car when you enter the driver's seat.
- - By default, this checkbox is OFF.
- - The ignition will no longer fire when you trigger the starter, a driver must manually turn on the ignition if you want to run the starter.
- - - The Default Ignition option is set to OFF if the Auto-Start is disabled.

- Support has been added for the new QAxis control type. This is a rotary knob that acts as a sequential series of buttons. If the knob has more positions then the states in the item we are attempting to control then each detent on the knob will be mapped 1:1 to the states.
- - For example if the throttle map has 3 possible options, but your knob has 12 positions, then positions 1, 2, and 3 will adjust the throttle mapping, rather than forcing you to rotate the knob through its full range as you would with an analog knob. If there are more states then positions for the knob, then we will spread them out as best we can, skipping some intermediate states.
- - Any hardware developer wanting to add a QAxis knob to there controller needs to ensure that the button defines are in sequential order. So a 4 position knob could use buttons 12, 13, 14, 15, but could not use buttons 12, 14, 13, 7. More details on this will be posted to the hardware forums.
- - The Fanatec CSL Elite McLaren GT3 rim is currently the only rim that ships with support for QAxis rotary knobs, however new rims are expected to be released later this year.

- A calibration wizard has been added to the in-car controls to simplify the process of setting them.

- All F7/F8 black box widgets now have a corresponding map-able control.

- Control calibration improvements have been made, including the enforcement of expected control type when calibrating. This will prevent users from mapping a button to an analog slot by accident.

Admin Commands

- Admins are now allowed to throw a Caution, even when the event has cautions set to "OFF".
- - For all intents and purposes, this option now means that when cautions are turned off for an event, iRacing Race Control does not throw Cautions, but an Admin may.

Force Feedback

- The force feedback setup screen has been reorganized to better support direct drive wheels.
- - Force units have been rescaled so that linear and non-linear are using the same unit scale.
- - Clicking on the Strength value will toggle between iRacing units and Newton meters.
- - A new Wheel Force slider has been added.
- - - Set this to the peak force of your wheel to help keep the auto function from overdriving your wheel. This also rescales the strength slider so you can not manually oversaturate the wheel on accident. This is only beneficial for users with wheels that are as strong or stronger than the force feedback we are getting from the physics (about 10 Nm or greater), so do not worry about setting it perfectly if you have a belt or gear drive wheel.
- - "Dampen Oscillations" has been renamed "Reduce Force When Parked" to better reflect what this option does. Also, the default value for this setting has been reduced to 33% from 50%.
- - The default endstops have been softened from 15 degrees to 45 degrees.
- - A hard knee has been added that reduces forces above 80 Nm by 80% and clips forces above 120 Nm.
- - - This should make running into a wall safer without completely destroying the signal.
- - Mouse-over tooltip help has been added to all force feedback settings.

- Helper text for racing wheel settings has been updated.

Replay

- A pair of settings have been added in the [Replay] section of the "app.ini" file to control how many seconds from the end of the tape Replay playback begins when exiting the car. One setting is for driver swap events, and the other is for non-team events.

- The "FF to End" behavior has been optimized to reduce system load, and to maintain Live Mode viewing when a new session begins.

Oculus Rift

- Rift HMD 1.3.2 support has been migrated to Oculus SDK 1.26.0.

EasyAnti Cheat

- A new version of the EAC application has been integrated into iRacing.

Dallara F3

- NEW CAR!
- - The Dallara F3 is now available for purchase and use on the track!
- - - The Dallara F3 car is raced in one of the most successful racing series in the world, Formula 3. It's a development series for up and coming drivers in Europe, the United States, Asia and Australia and has seen many a high profile driver move to the top ranks of open wheel racing in Formula One and IndyCar. Raced in spec series, the F3 car was designed for young drivers to move their way up through the ranks of open wheel racing. Racing an F3 car is often the first venture into professional level racing for young amateurs.

- NEW CAR!
- - The Formula Renault 3.5 is now available for purchase and use on the track!
- - - The (much) bigger brother of the Formula Renault 2.0, the FR3.5 is the perfect fit in the iRacing open wheel ladder system. The open cockpit, V8 powered cars, were traditionally a stepping stone for many drivers who were pursuing careers in Formula One. Featuring a spec chassis and spec motor, the cars allowed drivers to showcase their skills and hopefully get noticed by a Formula One team. The normally aspirated V8 motors produce 530 bhp and the large wings, both front and rear, provide large amounts of downforce and grip. Some say the FR3.5 sounds like a Formula One car should, or at least used to, before they moved to the turbo/hybrid power units.

Charlotte Motor Speedway

- NEW UPDATED TRACK!
- - Charlotte Motor Speedway, a newly updated asphalt oval and road track, has been granted to all iRacing Members for FREE!
- - This track currently features one track configuration:
- - - Roval
- - Additional track configurations are planned for release at a later date.
- - The Charlotte Motor Speedway built a new infield road course, designed specifically for NASCAR competition, in 2018. It utilizes nearly all of the 1.5 mile oval as well as newly built infield portion, thus the name Roval (Road/Oval). The Roval configuration is a 17-turn, 2.28 mile track that challenges the best of drivers and team. Car setups are typically compromises, a car good on the oval may not be so good in the infield and vice versa so drivers and crew chiefs have to decide what matters most to them. Two chicanes, one on the back straight and one just before the start finish line, make for some exciting passing opportunities as competitors can attempt to out brake each other. The Charlotte Roval is a unique infield road course that has already proven to be an exciting venue since its NASCAR debut in 2018.

- This track has been added to the default iRacing content, and is now FREE for all iRacing Members!

Charlotte Motor Speedway - 2016

- The track formerly known as Charlotte Motor Speedway has been renamed Charlotte Motor Speedway - 2016 to make room for the updated version of this real-world track location.

Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans

- Night lighting has been fully implemented at this track!
- - Now, when this track is selected to run at Night, or the new Day/Night & Time of Day system transitions to or from night, all track lights, reflectors, and environment lighting will work correctly and seamlessly!

Circuit of the Americas

- Several terrain seams have been fixed.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway

- (IndyCar Oval) - Pit stall positions have been shifted slightly.

Tsukuba Circuit

- NEW TRACK!
- - Tsukuba Circuit, a brand new asphalt road track, has been granted to all iRacing Members for FREE!
- - This track currently features seven track configurations:
- - - 1000 Full
- - - 1000 Outer
- - - 1000 Chicane
- - - 1000 Reverse
- - - 2000 Full
- - - 2000 Moto
- - - 2000 Short
- - Tsukuba Circuit, located in Japan, was built in 1970 and is known for hosting sports car, open wheel and motorcycle races - and most notably Time Attack competitions. There are two main configurations, Course 1000 and Course 2000, with multiple variations of both. This makes the track a perfect fit for the iRacing base package as it can be used in multiple series without becoming repetitive. Course 2000 is just over 2 KM in length and features 14 turns. Course 1000 is approximately 1 KM and has 11 turns. While the two main configurations share the same facilities, they are completely independent of each other and don't share any racing surface. The tracks proximity to Tokyo, Japan has made it extremely popular with local car tuners who compete in Time Attack competitions. Expect to see Tsukuba Circuit feature in both race series and time attack competitions on iRacing.

- This track has been added to the default iRacing content, and is now FREE for all iRacing Members!
  • Mooier publiek
  • Series Special Event races

We decided to go with a TCR car given our options. We are working with a team, data is currently being gathered and working on licensing as well.

Aston Martin of BMW?

quote: David Tucker
Here is a rough summary:

- Field of view controls how zoomed in the view is. Ideally this would be set via the FOV calculator on the graphics screen, but you need your monitor to be close to your face for the calculated FOV to be worth using. If you get this 1:1 with reality the view will change just like it does in a real car, if you set it much wider than reality then everything will feel faster, not in a good way. You can adjust this in car via the [ and ] keys

- Driver height moves the driving camera up or down the same amount in all cars. Adjust this if you feel short or tall in all cars. You can adjust it on a per car basis in the camera tool by editing the z-offset. You are limited to just a few inches of adjustment here, we don't want you moving your head outside of the car body. You can adjust this in car via the ctrl-[ and ctrl-] keys

- Shift horizon is a funky one. It moves the horizon up and down relative to the center of your monitor but does not change the camera geometry in any way. You can use this to shift the dash up into view, or ideally you would use it to move the horizon up to eye level to reduce distortion. You can adjust this in car via the shift-[ and shift-] keys.

- Roll chassis blends between your head rolling side to side with the car body or staying level with the ground. At 100% your head moves in sync with the body of the car, and at 0% your head is locked to the horizon and never rolls. Try bringing this down just a bit, say 80% to give the body of your car a bit of motion in a bank.

- Pitch chassis blends between your head pitching up and down with the car body or staying level with the ground. At 100% your head moves in sync with the body of the car, and at 0% your head is locked to the horizon and never pitches. Try bringing this down just a bit, say 80% to give the body of your car a bit of motion on a hill.

- Neck motion controls a spring in your neck that smooths out the bumps, just like your real head will roll back and forth as you go over a bump in your car. At 100% the neck spring is fully enabled, and at 0% your head is just locked to the chassis (or horizon depending on the above parameters). Try dialing this down a bit if you get sea sick in VR, or if you have a motion platform.

- Rotate with velocity will point your head in the direction of the slide. By default this is off and your head rotates in sync with the chassis of the car. Try adding in a bit, say 20% and you will see the body of the car move around a bit when you go into an under steer or over steer situation.

quote: Kurt Van Wagenen
There are always a lot of posts from new racers in this forum asking how do you deal with working up from rookies, or out of D class, and so on. How do you deal with the idiots, or the ragers, or how do you contain your rage. There seems to be more of these the last couple weeks, I'm guessing as northern summer is freeing up time for some people.

A lot of times those posts are answered by 5 or 8 or 10 year veteran players with simple things like 'Drive better', or 'stop worrying about iRating' etc, and really these are valid responses, but aren't useful or relatable to a guy who has a grand total of a week in iRacing and maybe 10 starts. So since my memory is a little more recent, as I am just finishing my first year, I thought I'd talk a bit about things I have learned and and done, and maybe it'll help some new guys. You old salty dudes, probably don't need to read this.

1) Have a thick skin.
Especially in Rookie classes, but true at all levels - There is always someone in your race who believes he is the second coming of <insert deceased champion driver name here>. It is especially bad in Rookie because everyone shows up thinking they are the only one who knows how racing is done. And this guy (or maybe he is you?) will scream obscenities at anyone who doesn't drive exactly as he does. Ignore these guys. They don't matter, and they will probably rage quit in two weeks anyhow. Just let it roll off you. Drive your car, drive clean, and don't get sucked into their circus. Don't take the bait. Better to keep your mouth shut and let them assume you're an idiot than to open your mouth and prove them right.

2) If you're going to talk, keep it friendly.
One thing you're not going to realize in your first few weeks is that a lot of the names you're racing against are going to be racing with you a year from now. Some of them are new, just like you, and others are very experienced and might be useful to be friends with. Don't burn bridges by spewing hateful words at people just because they accidentally tapped you out. It happens, its racing. Relax.

3) Sometimes it really is your fault.
Admit when you screw up. Drop your pride, because the fact is you are not the second coming of <insert deceased champion driver name here>, you are in fact a guy at a computer driving a fake car on a cartoon racetrack. The only thing real is the people and the competition. And people (that means YOU) screw up. If you find yourself always blaming others, you will never improve, you will never seek out your weaknesses and fix them. It is a road-block to your success. Look for fault within yourself before you start pressing that talk button.

4) iRacing is as expensive as you decide to make it.
Yeah, its a subscription service, but you knew that when you signed up, and yeah, the cars and tracks are expensive but you knew that when you signed up, and yeah, some of the hardware is expensive too, but you at least have some control over that. You can learn to be competitive on almost any hardware. So only spend what makes sense for you. You don't need every car and track, pick a couple series and race them, get only what you need for those. If you decide to change, then get the car you need for that. It doesn't need to cost you a mortgage payment to enjoy iRacing (but it can if you want).

5) You can win races, but you can't win iRacing.
iRating is not a 'score', there is no point in chasing a high rating. What you need is a rating that sorts you into drivers you enjoy racing with. If you find your rating is low and you dislike your competitors, take a long hard look in the mirror, because they are you. Your rating is the same as theirs because you're driving like they drive. If you don't like it, then change how you drive. But if you insist on jamming your way into gaps that don't exist, you're going to be racing against guys who jam their way into gaps that don't exist (same guys from item 1 on this list, for what its worth). You don't need a 5000 iRating to have fun. Well, some people probably do, but they are also the same guys who know how to drive like someone with a 5000 iRating, again, go check with your mirror about it.

6) Internet latency
Its not 'net code' its the speed of light. If you're racing a guy on another continent you are probably out of sync with each other by about a quarter of a second. A quarter of a second at 150mph(240kph) is 60 feet (20meter), if you are going into a breaking zone and you're 3 feet off the tail of that guy from another continent you will likely hit him when he breaks for entry. Net code tries to smooth that out by predicting these things, but you should have it in your mind at all times, especially if you, or the other driver clearly has a bad connection. Raging out about 'net code' usually just makes you look silly. The internet is a fickle beast. We all have the same handicap.

7) Use Hosted Practice sessions
If you see a user hosted session for your series (or someone announces one on the board) do it! You will get more time to learn the personalities than you ever will if you only race in official sessions. You might find out that some of the people you were yelling at are actually pretty nice people dealing with all the same headaches as you are. Turns out some of the other drivers are good dudes (not all, some really are that idiot from the #1 point above). Also, be a capital fellow and host a practice session for your series from time to time. People usually really appreciate having a weekend practice for next weeks track!

8 ) Relax and have fun
If you're angry, you're doing it wrong. If you're tense, you can't be fast. When you can run good laptimes and be as relaxed as you are when you drive to the store, thats when you've got your chosen car figured out. Drive slower to get faster! If you're holding on for dear life and sweating every corner, you're not learning, you're just reacting. Use practice time to drive at a comfortable pace to master a line, then start ticking it up a little at a time until you are where you need to be... But be there comfortably. It takes time. (TT sessions are helpful for this, and of course offline testing). I have noticed in my lap times, that my fastest laps are always the ones where I'm just enjoying the lap. When I feel like I'm trying, my times suffer. Your mileage may vary. But again, if you're not having fun, why are you here? Relax.

9) Honor Blue Flags
When the leader is running up behind you, just let them by, its not a position car, you don't gain anything by holding them up, and someday that leader might be you, and you might need the favor back. It is very rare that you get a blue flag and you're actually faster than the leader. If that happens you'll clear the blue by running away from him, but be honest with yourself.. There is a reason you're getting lapped. Don't mess up everyone else's day.

10) Use the report system as it is intended.
Everyone asks 'is this reportable?'... Everything is reportable, but not everything is enforceable. You could file a report against a guy for driving a blue car if you wanted to. You'd probably be the one that gets the heat for that report though.. Still, sure, you could report it if you're really dumb. That having been said, if someone deliberately wrecks you, makes excessive blocking moves, or is verbally abusive, report them. Nobody wants them around anyhow. But if someone rear-ends you because they misjudged a breaking zone, be realistic, thats racing, not wrecking, it happens. Use common sense. Most people aren't driving to deliberately ruin your race. But if someone is, report that guy.

I'm going to wrap it up here, There is of course LOTS more, and I'm sure people will add to this with their own thoughts, or tell me how wrong I am about something or whatever, that is fine... Just try to keep it in the spirit of helping out some new guys, rather than bashing anyone.

Take care.

We are very excited about the first-ever live network broadcast of a sim race here in the U.S.

This Thursday on the NBC Sports NASCAR America show, there will be a live broadcast of an iRacing race. The show airs at 5:00 Eastern time, this Thursday, July 25th.

The race will feature our NASCAR PEAK drivers and even one of the regular broadcasters from the PEAK Series. It has been a pleasure to work with NBC Sports and NASCAR on this and to have them interested in our eSports is tremendous. As many of you know, the NASCAR America show has been doing simulator segments for years utilizing iRacing and more recently has started to cover the NASCAR PEAK Series and talk about it on the show. Taking this next big step is a significant development for sim racers to see live sim racing on network TV.

There are already discussions to expand beyond this Thursday. Please watch and, tell your friends and family about it. If you can’t watch live or want to watch again, please record it. The more interest we create, the more likely we see more of this.

Thanks!

iRACING SIMULATION:

Membersite

- The Blacklist functionality has been consolidated and updated.
- - The separate list for banned (ignored) spotters and the Blacklist have been merged into a single list. The control in the Settings panel for managing ignored spotters still works, but now shows this combined blacklist, and any changes are reflected in the blacklist available from the myRacers page (and vice-versa).

- The effects of blacklisting have been expanded. Blacklisted users:
- - Cannot spot for you.
- - Cannot join a session hosted by you.
- - Cannot apply to a Team you own, though they can still be invited.
- - Cannot apply to a League you own, though they can still be invited.
- - Cannot send you a friend request. When blacklisting a current friend, that user is automatically un-friended.
- - Cannot view your online status.

- A new option has been added to the iRacing membersite Settings panel that, when enabled, blocks ALL incoming Friend Requests from all Members. You are still able to send outgoing Friend Requests with this option enabled.
- - This option is also natively available in the iRacing BETA Interface, via the new Friends List.

- The iRacing Membersite now features a Live Chat feature, as another way to contact Customer Support.
- - You can find the Live Chat widget located in the bottom-right corner of the Membersite.
- - - Clicking on the Live Chat widget will initially connect you to a BOT, who will gather some required information such as email address. Customer Support will then respond as available - if not immediately, then via email.

- Fixed an issue where the tracks for an Official Series’ current, previous, and next weeks must all be updated to be able to join a session in that Official Series.
- - Now, each Session only requires the correct track for the correct week to be up-to-date. The "Test Car on Track" button in the Race panel will only switch to "Get Required Updates" if the content listed in the Race panel is not up-to-date, or there are system updates required.

Windows 7 SP1

- This is a reminder that Microsoft will be ending support for Windows 7 on January 14th, 2020. At that time, iRacing will no longer support accessing the Membersite or running the Simulation on the Windows 7 operating system.
- - If you have questions or concerns, feel free to contact Customer Support at support@iracing.com.

Store

- Fixed an issue where disabled or unavailable store items were counting towards the 100% Club Discount requirement.

Cars

- Some older vehicles that currently do not have an active Official Series have had their names prepended with "[Archive]" to denote this status.

Simulation

- Fixed a bug where having an out-of-date intermediate content package (eg: "/tracks/charlotte") when using a piece of content inside that package's directory (eg: "/tracks/charlotte/2018/oval") would cause an Error 72.

Dynamic Track

- A new track temperature model has been added to the Simulation!
- - This upgraded model now utilizes multiple layers beneath the ground to track temperature and moisture, as well as simulating three days of weather prior to an event start time for generating the track initialization. This track model also continues to run and generate data that will be used for additional sessions if there is a skip between sessions. The multi-layer approach means that temperature on the surface will behave more realistically. Also included is a more accurate interaction between water and temperature, which can result in the track being cooler than the ambient air temperature if the conditions are right.
- - The end result compared to the previous Dynamic Track model should be that temperatures will likely be cooler in the morning and early afternoon, and warmer in the late afternoon. With the previous system, as the sun sets, the track temperature cools rapidly with the incoming solar energy gone. With this new model, the heat that is built up (especially if the skies have been clear) in the layers of earth below will work its way back up and warm the surface. Similarly, built-up heat from cars will last longer if a lot of laps have been driven. The layers allow a realistic recording of history that the old model simply could not.
- - Think especially about a very short, mild rain shower -- in the old model, the track temperature would plummet and never come back up, even after all the water was gone. With the new model, heat is retained in the lower layers and the surface may regain some of the lost temperature.
- - Also significant, when a session starts, the track temperatures are no longer calculated using the cloud conditions at the session start time. This meant if a session happened to start with the sun obscured, the track would have been unrealistically cool. In the new model, if the sun is out most of the time leading up to that moment, that will be captured and the track will still be hot but cooling off.

- The effectiveness of using a dirt cushion has been reduced.

V7 Tires

- The following vehicles now utilize V7 Tires:
- - Aston Martin DBR9 GT1
- - Audi RS 3 LMS
- - Chevrolet Corvette C6.R GT1
- - Dallara F3
- - NASCAR K&N Pro Chevrolet Impala
- - Skip Barber Formula 2000

- A lot of work has been done on improving the modeling of the tread rubber compound for this release. We have been testing on more cars than the original Skip Barber Formula 2000, which is helping us to dial the tread compounds in. The vehicles for which we have added V7 Tires represent cars with a wide variety of tire constructions and compounds, and this will help us plan for the future.

- Temperature spreads across the tire are more accurate, although carcass probe temperatures read higher than they should, generally. This is because they are reflecting temperatures deeper into the tire than would be typical for a tire probe.

New Damage Model

- The New Damage Model is now available in a Beta-Test version for the Skip Barber Formula 2000!

- The New Damage Model system includes major changes to improve both collision and damage.

- The New Damage Model is currently only active when all vehicles in a Session have these required updates. In all other circumstances, the session will run using the classic damage system.

- The New Damage Model includes the following improvements:
- - Collision shapes now closely match the vehicle shape and dimensions, and can deform appropriately when damaged.
- - Damage due to impacts can loosen and even detach some vehicle parts.
- - Wheel impacts can bend suspension, damage spring dampers, and break hub attachment points.
- - Wheels can hang from remaining attachment points or detach entirely.
- - Detached parts and wheels can impact and damage other vehicles. The parts will remain on track until they are out of a drivers' sight, when they will be cleared away.
- - Vehicle wheel on wheel contact is more accurate and considers wheel spin and friction appropriately.
- - All collisions with the track surfaces and environmental objects are now using a high resolution collision mesh.
- - Impacts against detached car parts and wheels do not count toward incident penalties.
- - Visual effects for debris and scrapes have been added and improved to support the New Damage Model.
- - Sound effect processing for impacts and scrapes has been improved to support the New Damage Model.

- Please keep in mind, this very complicated feature remains under development, but we wanted to share our progress with you, and get your feedback on the system. For normal racing and in light to moderate contact conditions, drivers should expect the system to behave appropriately. High-speed vehicle on vehicle impacts are in need of some further development. Please feel free to experiment, and let us know what you think. And have fun!

Pit Stops

- NASCAR pit stop time deviation has been reduced slightly.

Rendering

- High-Dynamic Range (HDR) Rendering modes now use a linear format render target instead of a gamma encoded render target.
- - The linear formats support mathematically correct additive lighting which improves the accuracy of things like brake lights, back fires, windshield reflections, glow and bloom effects, and many other items which cannot work correctly with a gamma encoded render target. Many of these items have since also been adjusted to take advantage of the linear format improvements.

- Improved the accuracy of the default gamma encoding/decoding in the DX11 shaders for better color reproduction and contrast.

- The Simulator now supports launching directly in windowed HDR16F modes on HDR10 displays.
- - If HDR is enabled in the Graphics Options, and the Simulator is launched in windowed mode, it now checks the color space of the adapter output (the display) to see if it is HDR10. If so, it will launch using an HDR16F swap chain directly. Previously, one had to launch full-screen and then Alt-Enter back to a window to use windowed modes on HDR displays. If you have multiple monitors, it will check the adapter output that was specified during the graphics Auto-Configuration (see adapterIdx in app.ini or re-run the autoconfig to select/change the monitor to check).

- For Advanced Graphics Options, the video memory maximum footprint has been increased to 8GB (previously 4GB), and the system memory maximum footprint has been increased to 16GB (previously 8GB).
- - Please note that the auto-configuration utility will still not recommend utilizing over 4GB of video memory.

- A custom lens flare/bloom effect has been added to the solar disk (the Sun) via a post process step.

- Improved the environmental reflections in shadow coverage.

- Further improved the ambient light calculations for vehicle cockpits.

- The dynamic shadow map system was altered for cockpit camera views to attempt to work around the flickering shadow maps that a few customers were experiencing.

- Adjusted the brightness of haze/fog so that it is proportional to the world’s illumination levels.

- Additional objects have been converted from using older shaders to the newer physically based versions of the shaders, including track cones which were suffering strange specular artifacts.

- Backfire effects have been updated and now emit HDR lightmaps for different appearance at night vs. day.

- Stadium lights and headlights have been adjusted to work better with HDR linear render target.

- Headlight flare\bloom effects have been updated for HDR linear render target formats.

- Internal windshield reflections have been updated for HDR linear render target formats.

- Camera flashes have been updated for HDR linear render target formats.

- Smoke textures and shader colors have been updated for HDR linear render target formats.

- HDR bloom effects have been replaced with a more effective version.

- Cameras affixed to the outside of a vehicle now have their motion blur amount capped at the same value as the interior car cameras.

- Fixed an issue with flickering dynamic shadow maps for cameras with a Field of View (FOV) larger than 165 degrees.

- Fixed an issue where some car shadows (the drop shadows under the car that mimic ambient occlusion) could appear to have jagged edges.

- Fixed an issue with motion blur where tire barriers would appear to have a halo effect when dust was nearby.

- - If you have questions or concerns, feel free to contact Customer Support at support@iracing.com.

Rallycross Racing

- The collidable blue tire bundles have been removed from Rallycross track turn centers and have been replaced with blue "turtle" curbs, like those used at Charlotte - Roval.

Weather

- With Dynamic Weather enabled, cloud cover may now change density over time, which can ultimately change the selected weather cloud status. This may be most noticeable in sessions that span a longer simulated time, where, for example, partly cloudy may become cloudy or clear.

- Off-track grip has been reduced slightly.

New Damage Model

- New Damage Model has been enabled on the Dallara F3!

- With this build, we have concentrated on stability and quality improvements along with an overhaul of how the sound system integrates with the New Damage Model.

- Stability Improvements:
- - Transitions from Session to Session are now stable.
- - Moving to and from the garage is now stable.
- - Wheel-to-wheel contact and damage is now stable.

- Quality Improvements:
- - The appearance of scrapes, scratches, and debris has been improved. Damage should now look more appropriate given the materials of the parts and the damaged areas.
- - The force required to trigger an incident due to track hits has been adjusted.
- - The interaction between driver tires and the driving surfaces has been updated to improve handling of irregular geometry such as aggressive curbs.
- - Suspension damage has been adjusted; suspension will now bend within more reasonable parameters.
- - Objects and opponent cars will now more often run at 60hz for improved performance.

- Sound Improvements:
- - The audio system now supports playing many more scrape sounds, is more efficient, has lower triggering thresholds, and much more!
- - The threshold for triggering "medium" and "hard" impact sounds has been increased to increase sound diversity and realism.
- - Crash sounds have been offset forward by a meter to stop DirectSound from always pushing the sounds to the center-front speaker.
- - Fixed an issue where scrape sounds were not loud enough in Replays.
- - Fixed issues with sounds related to hard curb impacts and medium concrete impacts.

Incidents

- Drivers may now incur a pit road penalty when exceeding a set number of incidents.
- - Penalties for exceeding incident limits can be set to penalize every N incidents, or for the first N incidents then again for each M incidents.
- - If the incident limit for DQ is set, then pit road penalties stop being issued at that point and the driver is disqualified.
- - - Incident limits for pit road penalties must be lower than the incident limit for DQ if the DQ setting is in use.
- - Additional penalty time will be imposed if pit service is taken during a pit road penalty.
- - For the Classic Membersite Create a Hosted Session interface, this new setting may be found in the OPTIONAL SETTINGS section.

- Dynamic incident information has been added to the F1 black box.

- Cars that have taken the Checkered Flag should no longer be penalized or disqualified for causing incidents. However, the Simulator will continue to count incidents as usual.

- All penalties are now applied post-race for any event that never allows pit service, such as rallycross and dirt oval racing.
- - This change adds this behavior to dirt oval racing, where getting into the pits can be very difficult to do safely. In other words, if we do not have a proper pit lane and pit crew, in-race penalties will not be used.

- More descriptive text has been added to the Info tab for Incident Limit.
- - The text now reads “Incident Count DQ Limit:".

Cautions

- Some new features have been added regarding full-course cautions:
- - You can now separately specify whether or not lap(s)-down cars get waved around the pace car to get a lap back when nearing the end of a full-course caution period.
- - You can now separately specify that a single-file restart should be used on the second and subsequent caution periods without an intervening complete green-flag lap, even if a double-file restart would have otherwise been used.

- A new caution mode has been added: Full-Course Cautions where Caution Laps Do Not Count as Race Laps.
- - This caution mode is modeled after short-track oval racing, where laps under caution are not counted, though it is not intended to exactly mirror any particular series' set of rules.
- - Full-Course Cautions where Caution Laps do not count functions as follows:
- - - At the instant the caution flag is flown, the field ordering is determined (there is no racing back to the line). One goal is to roll-back scoring to the prior completed lap, thus undoing any passing that might have occurred during the lap that brings out the caution. This is accomplished as follows:
- - - - The lead contender on track and all cars on track behind them to the S/F line are reordered as to their most recent lap crossing. Laps are no longer scored for this set of cars until the green flag following the caution period.
- - - - The cars on track behind the S/F line backwards to the lead contender on track are reordered as to their most recent lap crossing, and placed behind the other group. These cars will have their next lap crossing under caution scored, thus preventing them from going a lap-down. A disabled car that does not make it back to the line will not be awarded this lap. These laps will be scored so as to preserve how they are sorted into the pace field. Subsequent laps for these cars while under caution are not scored.
- - - - Any cars not on track when the caution flies will be placed at the back of the field when they exit the pits, and will not have any laps scored during the caution period.
- - - If the selected restart setting (single file, double file, etc.) indicates that lapped cars are to go to the back of the field for the restart, and lapped cars will not get a wave-around to un-lap themselves as the caution is ending, then lapped cars will be placed into the initial pace order behind cars that are on the lead lap. Since laps under caution are not being scored, these cars will be directed to fall-back behind the lead lap cars, as opposed to passing the pace car to catch up to the end of the field. When nearing the end of the caution period, lapped cars that have become co-mingled with lead lap cars due to pitting will again be directed to fall-back and let the lead lap cars by.
- - With this new caution mode enabled, fuel is NOT consumed during these potential extra laps.

- For the Classic Membersite Create a Hosted Session interface, the old caution selection drop down has been removed and replaced with two new checkboxes for Automatic Full-Course cautions, and for enabling Lucky Dog rule.
- - The new setting to enabled Caution Laps Do Not Count may be found in the CAUTIONS section.
- - The new setting to restart single file when one caution is followed immediately by another caution is in the RESTARTS section.

Rendering

- SDR rendering now uses a linear format frame buffer. Previously, unless HDR was enabled in the graphics options, the frame buffer was always gamma encoded. This encoding resulted in mathematically incorrect blends when compositing to the frame buffer. Earlier this year we released improved linear frame buffers, which avoids this issue, but only when HDR was enabled. Now we switched SDR to also be linear! It may be a tiny bit more expensive, but now it blends correctly in both SDR and HDR, and it speeds up our development process going forward.
- - This change may affect the appearance of some things that composite in the frame buffer, like track surface detail decals, or effects. We are still in the process of re-tuning some of them.

- Improved the appearance of the sky where it meets the horizon.

- Reduced the amounts that reflectors sparkle with large blooms in the distance.

- Refined the windshield reflection algorithm.

- Added the support to display extra detail layers to several of our night mode GPU shaders.

- Altered the solar specular color to be whiter at higher solar angles.

- Fixed a crashing issue at night tracks with night shadows maps enabled.

- Fixed an issue where the solar bloom would not appear when the camera was moved far from the track’s center position.

- Fixed an issue with lighting sometimes appearing dark blue (at daytime) in one direction only, when shadow maps were disabled.

- Fixed an issue with the specular reflection color of the sun on dirt tracks.

Visual Effects

- The depth of field effect has been updated.

- Sparks are now colorized based on the material that is casting them.

Audio

- The sound system now crossfades between microphones whenever the camera changes, to smooth out the sound between the cameras.
- - In-car and on-car mics' crossfade over 0.1 seconds for a quick but smooth transition, while TV cameras crossfade over 0.35 seconds for a more noticeable blend that is not too dramatic.

- Fixed some issues with opponent car engine sounds not playing correctly from in-cockpit cameras.

- Fixed an issue where collisions with cones were not triggering sounds while using the normal damage model.

Spotter

- The default Aussie spotter package has been improved and updated.

Flagman

- The flagman should now only be visible during Practice, Qualify, and Race session types.

Crowds

- Two-dimensional crowd planes have been replaced with billboarding characters.
- - While still two-dimensional, these people should appear to have a side of themselves always facing your viewing angle, making for more realistic crowds.
- - Billboarding crowd characters should be found at ALL tracks and configurations!

- Race marshal characters have been added around some tracks!
- - The appearance of these characters should be player car-type specific. For example, if the player is using a NASCAR vehicle, these characters should resemble NASCAR officials, or, if the player is using an F1 vehicle, these characters should resemble F1 officials.

- The box ambulance truck, ambulance van, and tow truck have all been updated to new higher detailed versions. You are much safer now.

Paint Shop

- Support has been added for custom specular (spec) maps for all cars.
- - Our rendering engine now supports custom spec maps that can be used with custom paints. A spec map is a .tga image file that tells the iRacing Sim what properties the underlying materials on the custom paint .tga image are made of. By altering individual pixels in a specific way, you can tell the Sim if the pixel is metallic or nonmetallic, if the pixel is smooth or rough, or if it should be lit by our lighting engine or not. This should allow you to create all kinds of materials, from matte to chrome and everything in between!
- - Our Sim uses Physical Based Rendering (PBR). Physical Based Rendering uses shader and lighting models to accurately create materials that reflect their real world counterparts. Instead of using a spec, gloss, and environment map to create the spec maps for a material, you simply decide if the material is metallic, and then decide how smooth the surface of the material is. The shader does the rest. This greatly simplifies the process of creating spec maps.

- For the pair of new Supercars, their car paints support translucency and stamping of text, numbers, sponsors, etc. onto windows or other translucent surfaces.

Replays

- Fixed some visual issues that could appear when stepping through a Replay with Motion Blur enabled.

- Fixed an issue with camera-aim smoothing in Replays while paused or playing.

Screen Capture

- The latest D3DGear SDK has been added.
- - This fixes an issue with a flickering Record icon, and the filepath no longer changes.

Virtual Reality

- Support has been added for screen shot and video capture while in VR, using the built-in iRacing capture tools.

- The D3DGear files have been moved to their own sub directory, so the iRacing root install folder is not added to the command line.
- - This may help stop Beat Saber from picking up our version of the openvr_api.dll file by accident.

- For openVR, call PostPresentHandoff() to notify the compositor to start its work ASAP, instead of waiting for a later call to WaitGetPoses (but only when the full wait for vsync is disabled). This notifies the SteamVR compositor that we sent it all the info, and it can go, otherwise it waits until later in the next frame (when we call the routine to wait for sync and get poses) to start. This is a newer API call in SteamVR for this sort of case.

- The "ResolutionScalePct" field has been removed from the [OpenVR] section of the "rendererDX11.ini" file.
- - This option is now obsolete, SteamVR supports it behind our back via SteamVR settings, causing them to multiply together.

- The post-processing motion blur effect is now always reduced slightly while using a VR headset.

Controls

- The latest Logitech wheel prototype API has been integrated.

Telemetry

- A few new telemetry SessionString entries have been added:
- - WeekendInfo:WeekendOptions:GreenWhiteCheckeredLimit: {unlimited, or number with 0 being no gwc laps}
- - WeekendInfo:WeekendOptions:FastRepairsLimit: {unlimited, or number with 0 being no fast repairs}

- A few new telemetry variables have been added:
- - "PitstopActive", irsdk_bool, "Is the player getting pit stop service"
- - "FastRepairUsed", irsdk_int, "How many fast repairs used so far"
- - "FastRepairAvailable", irsdk_int, "How many fast repairs left, 255 is unlimited"

- The telemetry variable, "SessionFlags" is now logged directly to disk as well as live, so you can view the status of flags offline.

- Support has been added for setting/changing variable name after class creation when allocating an irsdkCVar object.

Loading Screens

- New 4K loading screen images have been added for the following tracks and configurations:
- - Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari
- - Brands Hatch Circuit
- - Charlotte Motor Speedway - 2016
- - Charlotte Motor Speedway
- - Charlotte Motor Speedway - Roval
- - Charlotte Motor Speedway - Roval Long
- - Concord Speedway
- - Detroit Grand Prix at Belle Isle
- - Dover International Speedway

- FULLY RE-BUILT VEHICLE!
- - The Skip Barber Formula 2000, an open-wheeled road car, has been completely re-built graphically from the ground up! This update does not alter the vehicle physics, only artwork.
- - - Designed around a classic open-wheel, single-seat formula car layout, but built with a bit more room to accommodate all sizes of drivers and added strength to withstand the rigors of racing schools, the SBF2000 was used in all six Skip Barber Race Series Championships. The list of drivers who have advanced their careers behind the wheel of an SBF2000 reads like a Who's Who of motorsport, ranging from A.J. Almendinger to Mike Wallace, with Marco Andretti, Townsend Bell, Kenny Brack, Jeff Burton, Helio Castroneves, Jon Fogarty, Memo Gidley, Alex Gurney, Juan Pablo Montoya, Bryan Herta, Jeff Gordon, Todd Bodine and Kasey Kahne just a few of the names in between. The SBF2000 features a 150-horsepower, four-cylinder engine. The 2.0-liter, single-overhead-cam power plant is mated to a five-speed sequential gearbox driving a 1,250-lb. tubular space-frame chassis. Capable of speeds up to 135 mph, the FSB 2000 accelerates from a standstill to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds and through 100 mph in less than 10 seconds. One of the most basic, but purest racing cars in existence, the SBF2000 offers drivers the chance both to learn the dynamics of an uncompromised racing car and how to compete with other drivers in identical equipment - lessons that are applicable in any car on any race track in the world.

https://members.iracing.c.../50/3680699.page#11812574
For most series that are C Class and above, the DQ limit was placed at 17. With this new feature, 17 will issue a drive through penalty and 25 will be disqualified.

For the Endurance Lemans Series the incident limit was 60. In 2020 Season 1, 60 will be the point in which you get a drive through, with an additional drive through every 10 incidents after that. If a driver reaches 100 incidents they will be disqualified.

• Je moet 9 van de 12 weken (75%) meegedaan hebben met het wekelijkde toernooi van 2020 Seizoen 1 van GoT iRacing. Dit betreft minimaal 1 van de 2 raceavonden;
• Deelname wordt bepaald door verschijnen aan de start van Heat 1, 2 & 3;
• Indien een rijder enkel kwalificeert, en telkens Heat 1, 2 en 3 enkel start om en vrij direct zijn auto langs de baan zet zal dit gezien worden als ‘vals spelen’ en zal er uitsluiting plaatsvinden;
• Je moet woonachtig zijn in de Benelux.

Speciale regels:

• Je krijgt een tegoedbon voor een vergelijkbaar bedrag voor een aankoop bij Sim-Lab;
• Je laat de organisatie van GoT-Racing een nieuwe winnaar bepalen die dan deze prijs ontvangt;
• De prijs is NIET overdraagbaar aan iemand anders;
* JoepW is uitgesloten van deelname.

GoT iRacing razende reporter

Release notes voor de patch van vanmiddag:
This Patch focuses on updates and fixes for the 2020 Season 1 release.

CHANGE LOGS:

iRacing BETA Interface - (03.02.01-beta)

- General:
- - A Close button has been added to the iRacing BETA Interface splash screen.
- - New backgrounds have been added to the iRacing BETA Interface splash screen.

- AI Races:
- - The Global Mazda MX-5 Cup car is now available for AI Races!
- - - Multi-Class racing is now possible, however, we are still working out a few kinks. For example, AI Opponents will not currently grid or score by car class correctly.
- - AI Driver attributes are now set immediately upon a Roster being saved, and the interface has been updated to explain in more detail how attribute values are assigned.
- - The Saved Opponent Rosters window now shows if a Roster is used in an AI Season.
- - There is now a warning displayed when a user sets a field of AI opponents to more than 40, due to potential system strain.

Race Control

- Fixed an issue where a race start at a track where the pace field has to go very slowly through a tight chicane or hairpin moments before getting the green flag, such as Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, could cause race control to get stuck and never throw the green.

AI Races

- The Global Mazda MX-5 Cup car is now available for AI Races!

- AI Incidents are now recorded.

- AI Driver adjustments:
- - Understeer handling has been adjusted slightly.

- AI Car adjustments:
- - Convective tire cooling has been adjusted.
- - Tire load sensitivity has been improved.
- - Tire grip has been adjusted slightly.

- - Performance at Lime Rock Park should be slightly improved.

- AI bug fixes:
- - Fixed an issue where AI vehicle tires were not always cold at the beginning of a Session.

New Damage Model

- Car bodies are now reset when they first enter their pit stall, which should fix any hyper extension of suspension. This adjustment introduces the possibility for a visual "pop effect", as the body is reset to initial position.

- Incident thresholds for minor track strikes such as normal curbs, and some bottoming have been increased. Drivers should now only receive 0X Incidents for hard curb strikes while using the New Damage Model.
- - Incident thresholds for New Damage Model and Classic Damage Model have been separated to allow for higher fidelity.

- Fixed an issue where opponent vehicles could appear to quickly repair themselves during a crashing event.
- - Now, opponent vehicles may only appear to take additional damage for the duration of a crash event, and if the apparent damage taken ends up being inaccurate, they will be repaired only after the crash event is complete.

Penalties

- A flat tire is now considered car damage, and race control issues a Black Flag (Meatball) for repair to cars running with one or more flat tires.

Pit Stop

- Whenever a car has a flat tire, the pit crew will automatically prepare to change all four wheels at the next pit stop. A driver may override this if they desire.

Rendering

- Fixed an issue where some grasses and asphalt could appear excessively shiny at night.

Lighting

- Fixed an issue with car headlights casting on dirt tracks.

Paint Shop

  • Data aggregation inclusief timing screen, track map, session events, etc.
