Jammer dat Nokia over lijkt te gaan op 1 design, het design is voor mij zeker wennen. Mijn eerste indruk is niet positief iig. Ik blijf lekker bij m'n N82.

Al met al is het wel een vooruitgang op de N73, die ik nu nog steeds heb. Hier zit dat op waarvan men zoiets had van: Als de N73 dat had gehad was het de perfecte telefoon. Nu hebben ze een goed concept een beetje in de war gegooid door wel alles te bieden, maar het ontwerp weer te veranderen.

A-GPS klinkt erg verleidelijk en ik heb een half jaar lang onderzoek gedaan naar voetgangersnavigatie en het feit is dat het wel wat preciezer is, maar niet schrikbarend veel. Ik weet nog niet volgens welke principes deze A-GPS werkt, Gyroscoop? High Definition? Radiobakens? Het probleem met veel technieken is nog de afwijking als GPS wegvalt, echter als GPS aanwezig is geeft het wel een aanzienlijke verbetering in precisie.

Zijn dat nou van die kleine knopjes? Net als op de N81? Want dat vind ik echt helemaal niets... tenminste, dat lijkt me niets. Ik ben bang dat de N78 niet het succes van de N73 gaat halen. Touchscreen zit er nog steeds niet op nee, maar denk dat de meningen daarover verschillen. Daarbij is Symbian S60 3rd edition pack 2 niet geschikt voor touchscreen, of wel? Hmmm... denk dat ze er wel goed aan gedaan hebben geen touch te doen.

De N78 laat ik waarschijnlijk aan me voorbij gaan ik ga voor de N81...

Ik begin het design ook steeds meer te waarderen. De n96 begin ik nu ook steeds veel mooier te vinden. Het is denk ik puur ff wennen.

Ik vind hem wel netjes. Je ziet wel dat op de duurdere toestellen GPS en WLAN steeds meer standaard wordt

Hij wordt het tweede kwartaal verwacht

Ziet er inderdaad een heel veelbelovende gsm uit. Vooral wifi vond ik een groot gemis op de n73.

Lijkt een mooie opvolger voor de N73 die ikzelf nu heb, maar ik weet het nog niet. Ik heb nu mijn N73 zo'n 1,5 jaar en ben er niet tevreden over. Langzaam, blijft vaak hangen (ook met nieuwste fimware), camera is traag en zo kan ik nog wel even doorgaan.

Ik vind het design van dit toestel vele male beter dan de N73. Wel raar dat ze nog steeds een "maar" 3.2 megapixel camera inzetten terwijl de meeste duurdere toestellen 5 megepixelcamera`s hebben. Wat ik ook apart, maar wel leuk vind is de ingebouwde FM transmitter. Dit heb ik nog niet in andere toestellen gezien.

A-GPS werkt toch door je positie te bepalen door te kijken waar jij je bevind tussen meerdere zendmasten en GPS?

De n78 is niet het vlaggenschip van nokia, het is bedoelt voor mensen die geen 500 euro willen geven aan de top-of-the range gsm maar een beetje een betaalbare gulden middenweg willen. (hij zal trouwens rond de 350 euro gaan kosten.) Het is dus normaal dat ze er niet alle beste features in gaan steken. Dit zou de prijs te hoog maken en de n96 overbodig maken.

n93 was beetje voor ander publiek bedoeld denk ik. De n93 met zijn afmetingen was eerder iets voor de liefhebbers. n73 was eerder het vlaggenschip denk ik. (Zie je ook aan de introductieprijs)
De n78 zou rond de 350 euro kosten. n96 zal nu top of the line zijn.

(Zijn allemaal maar mijn interpretaties hoor, helemaal geen zekerheden ofzo ;-) )

Hier nog wat real life fotos van de n78

Dit lijkt me een behoorlijk ideale telefoon. Qua omvang en gewicht acceptabel en toch alle opties die je je kunt wensen.

Ben erg benieuwd wanneer deze exact gaat uitkomen en tegen welke prijs. Als het inderdaad 350 euro wordt is het een zeer concurerend toestel.

Heb nog even wat gezocht en eind 2e kwartaal lijkt nu vrij realisitisch. Prijsindicaties variëren vanaf 350 euro tot rond de 425. Persoonlijk denk ik dat rond de 425 realistischer is gezien de aanwezige opties van het toestel.

De navigatieknop van de N78 kan traditioneel gebruikt worden (4 richtingen) maar ook als 'naviwheel'. Met de naviwheel kun je gemakkelijker navigeren.

omdat er een integreerde fm-zender inzit kun je dan ook luisteren naar de radio zonder je oordopjes??? (zou wel gaaf zijn)

Nee, de oordopjes blijf je nodig hebben als antenne. De FM-zender zorgt ervoor dat je mediabestanden die je afspeelt op de N78 kunt beluisteren via je (auto)radio.

Daarnaast staat er een zeer uitgebreide review op de site.

Enkele opvallende punten hieruit:

• er wordt een 2gb microSD card meegeleverd, maar het apparaat leest ook 8gb (!) kaartjes
• verwachte adviesprijs: € 350,00
• de voorzijde is glanzend zwart, als achterkant kun je kiezen uit wit, bruin en blauw
• de N78 heeft aan beide zijden een speaker
• een stofdoekje bij je dragen is een must ivm de vingerafdrukken
• het was al bekend, maar die 2,4" is echt huge
• de reviewer vindt de 'naviwheel' tegenvallen. Zoals bekend kun je de navigatietoets ook gewoon op de conventionele manier (UDLR) gebruiken.
• lichtsensor die de backlight van het scherm en de toetsen dimt naarmate er meer omgevingslicht is
• binnenin de navigatietoets bevindt zich een oplichtende rand, die bijvoorbeeld aangeeft wanneer je een SMS hebt ontvangen (deze optie is uitschakelbaar); te zien op deze foto:

• de accu was leeg na drie dagen vrij intensief gebruik

ook bewegingsherkenning like n95..?

Nee dat heeft hij niet. Verder wel leuk toestel, misschien iets voor na mn E51.

@Yohan: Dank je voor deze nieuwe info. Erg interessant. Vooral de prijs van 350 euro is relatief laag gezien de opties die het toestel biedt. Nokia heeft het toestel nu ook zelf op haar .nl site staan. Releasedatum Nederland is nog steeds niet bekend volgens Nokia Care Benelux. Sommige andere Europese landen krijgen hem in juni. Niet onaannemelijk dat dit ook voor Nederland zal gaan gelden.

De drie kleuropties voor de achterkant zijn ook nieuw maar de donkere achterkant is m.i. het mooist.

Ik kan echt niet wáchten gewoon. Ik had zelf in m'n hoofd zitten (nav bericht op tweakers.net FP) dat hij in Q3 uit zou komen, maar het is dus al Q2!
Bye bye zwaai zwaai E900. Lekker GPS-en met m'n nieuwe N78!

De Phonehouse heeft de N78 al in de papieren catalogus staan (zonder prijs). Staat bij dat ie binnenkort uitkomt en daarmee nu nog niet leverbaar is. Helaas wordt geen exacte leverdatum/maand genoemd.
