I don't speak Dutch, but it is possible someone here speaks English so it's worth a try.

Luelinks doesn't cheat. Yes, we're a private forum, but we recently made a thread dedicated to recruiting members for whatpulse, and got a very good response. We had cheaters in the past, but hopefully they have been taken care of. We don't encourage cheating, and I'm sorry to read about how many posts accused us of cheating. We're recruiting people fairly, and I'm sorry if that makes you second best.

Much love,

Luelinks
Eventhough I appreciate your response on our forum, I'm still wondering how you got so many keys. Your saying that you've recruited people on the Luelinks forum, you've recruited about 350 people (which I think is alot for a closed forum, but that aside) and gained about 800/900 million keys doing so. That means you also have recruited people that already were participating actively in the whatpulse project and suddenly they part their old team to join Luelinks, am I right?

Sounds a bit strange to me.

Much love :D

Get stoned drink cement

Yes, we've gotten many people that had no idea there was a luelinks whatpulse team, and came on the team with quite a few keys. A typical response from the recruit topic, copy/pasted:

From: xxxxxxxxx | Filter | Message Detail
I joined a while ago, wasn't on the luelinks team. I'm almost at 21 million keys. Saw this topic, so now I'll join. What's the team password again?

So, yes, while there was cheating in the past, I hope it's been taken care of - I could care less if we keep #1, I just think it's fun to try. I simply use whatpulse for my own personal use, but decided to join LL because I visit the site. So, let's just all be friends.

Jaah! Mijn 6 miljoen barriere berijkt :D Ook bijna mijn 500k clicks :o

I stopped using Whatpulse some time ago, but I feel like responding to you anyway:
  1. You told us LUElinks had cheaters in the past, which are now banned or gone, which you guys think is good. Now, why the hell didn't you kick them out of your team yourself, why didn't you guys report them? Also, when I started using Whatpulse, I read something that said the same here, when a Dutch LL'er came to explain. A few months ago however, more cheaters of LL were banned. Because of this, I think your point is nicely made up, but it's just plain bullcrap.
  2. You say there are people with 21M keys, who were on LL for some time (as registrations are closed for a reeeaall long time ;) ), but never heard of the WhatPulse team. What the hell were 'all those guys' doing then? Didn't they ever come on LUElinks, and didn't they ever check the WhatPulse toplists? And now, after a very long time, they all do this with like twenty-five guys a day?
I think your explanations and defence is a bit too weak. Please tell me about the above points, will appreciate :)

1. There will always be cheaters, and I don't deny this. We actively discourage cheating, though some in the community still insist it's the way to "win." I personally think it's stupid, and a large section of the community agrees. There are a couple of people that still endorse cheating as the way to go, but forum names and whatpulse names are different, so it's virtually impossible to figure out who is who on the team.
2. No, many people didn't check whatpulse. Luelinks is a forum that is based around completely random topics. Every once in a while someone makes a whatpulse topic, and then people remember what whatpulse is. For the most part, the community ignores whatpulse. A particular user made a recruitment topic not long ago, and it's the first time in a while that a WP topic got a lot of attention. We had planned a megapulse at the end of January, but even that we couldn't get too many users to participate in. WP is largely ignored by LL, but we still take what we can get. Personally I'm not sure why whatpulse just now got a lot of attention, but it did, and that's that I suppose.

This one is burning on my lips for centuries:
Why is LueLinks a closed community? Why not make it open?

@onder: Nee, ook de waybackmachine niet meer. Wel weet ik dat het iets te maken had met praktijken die GameFAQs (waar ze vandaan komen) liever niet had oid.

Just has to do with how we were created. We've been closed since our existence, and I'm quite sure we'll never be open again.

But wil it be possible for some of us to join your community? This would probably be the best way for us to understand your situation and to "simply forget" everything happened with cheaters.

Not unless someone invites you. To earn an invite, you have to contribute a large amount to the site. I don't know of any way that you'd be able to join without an invite, which is hard to come by as it is.

Honestly though, our community cares little for whatpulse. There's a small community of WPers that contributes, but it's largely ignored by most of the community. You wouldn't gain much knowledge about us simply because most of the forum consists of completely random topics that have little to do with anything remotely interesting. Anyway, I think I'm about done here. I guess my point is just to say that hopefully a few cheaters won't ruin our image entirely, and best of luck to you guys retaking #1. I don't really care what place we're in, so... keep on typing, I guess.

Much love,

LL *;

How can you ever contribute to the site, if you can't login? 8)7

O MrBondt, waar blijven je stats? :o
